Studio Theatre has announced the cast of their production of Fun Home, with performances starting June 28. The musical, with music by Jeanine Tesori and book and lyrics by Lisa Kron, is based on the autobiographical graphic novel of the same name by cartoonist and writer Alison Bechdel.

Featuring dynamic choreography from director Casey Nicholaw and new songs from Fey's hubby Jeff Richmond and lyricist Nell Benjamin, this stage adaptation of the cult hit movie (that will also soon be re-adapted into a movie musical) admirably recreates its quote-heavy 'fetch'-ness and anthropological commentary for the social media age.

The producers of MEAN GIRLS - the record-breaking new musical comedy produced by Lorne Michaels, Stuart Thompson, Sonia Friedman, and Paramount Pictures based on the hit film - have announced the First National Tour coming to Orange County at Segerstrom Center for the Arts. The show will be playing in Segerstrom Hall from March 7 – 19, 2023.

Mean Girls is now on stage at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre and BroadwayWorld was there as the musical's stars walked the red carpet, along with producer Lorne Michaels. 

Mirvish’s production of MEAN GIRLS brings the cult-classic film to life, packed full of iconic lines, loveable characters, and featuring a soundtrack full of funny, new music.

Tina Fey proves she still knows high school in her musicalized version of MEAN GIRLS, but she makes rookie mistakes about what to leave out and what to leave in. Music by Fey's husband, Jeff Richmond, doesn't compensate for these deficits with Nell Benjamin's lyrics. But the deep and talented touring cast often brings redemption.

From being homeschooled in the savannas of Kenya to attending North Shore High School, Cady Heron (English Bernhardt) has some huge adjustments to make. With the help of her new besties, Damian Hubbard (Ian Young) and Janice Sarkisian (Lyndsay Heather Pearce) she will embark on a new adventure. High School!

Whether young students begin their theatrical careers in their performing arts high schools or get their BFAs and then join a high-level production, Texas performers have become a staple for the arts within the United States. A point of Texas pride is that many of the states performers are treading the boards on Broadway and on tours across the country. Adriana Scalice is a recent Texas State University graduate whose dream is coming true by being cast in Mean Girls shortly after graduation. When someone says they're turning one of the most beloved movies ever into a musical, there's always some cause for worry. The usual questions flood in: 'Will they do it justice? 'Will they say this line?' 'What are they going to change?' In most cases these worries are warranted, but in the unique case of Mean Girls, Tina Fey herself returned to adapt her modern teen classic into a hilarious and splashy musical comedy.

The mean girls are back in action, and this time you can sit with them! The hit Broadway musical Mean Girls is taking up residence at the Orpheum Theater in downtown Omaha and my ears are still ringing from the thunderous applause and cheers that met the cast as they bowed, following an electric performance earlier this week.
