 Jacob Stuckelman announced that Award Winning Playwright Ken Urban will receive an industry reading of his new full-length play Danger and Opportunity directed by Jack Serio (This Beautiful Future) on Thursday, August 4th at TheaterLab (357 West 36th Street, 3rd Floor). 

The Broadway production of A Strange Loop, Michael R. Jackson's Pulitzer-Prize winning musical, opened just last night at the Lyceum Theater (149 W 45th St). A Strange Loop is directed by Stephen Brackett, choreographed by Raja Feather Kelly, and produced by Barbara Whitman, along with Page 73 Productions, Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company and Playwrights Horizons.

Sony Masterworks Broadway has announced the release of Sing Street (ORIGINAL BROADWAY CAST RECORDING), an album of music from the musical adaptation of John Carney's indie hit film. Available for preorder now, the album will be released digitally Thursday, March 26, coinciding with the show's Broadway debut at the Lyceum Theatre that same evening, with the physical CD release to follow on Friday, April 17.

Producers of the Broadway-bound Magic Mike The Musical announced today that they are accepting audition videos for a diverse cast of leading men in the show which premieres in Boston this fall - and requires a unique set of talents! The show's director Trip Cullman said, 'When Channing Tatum and his co- stars first appeared on the screen, it was unlike anything anyone had ever seen - and we are looking for actors who can surprise and dazzle us in that same unprecedented way. T. Fellowship, in association with Columbia University School of the Arts, announces the next T. Fellow is Rachel Sussman, the seventh fellow in the one year program designed to educate and empower new creative producers. Corkscrew Theater Festival presents Field, Awakening, written by Melis Aker and directed by Tatiana Pandiani. Running July 14-22, Field, Awakening is a political drama set in Turkey in 2016, where a group of high school friends reunites at a soccer field on the evening of an attempted military coup. As the night progresses, the friends unexpectedly find themselves at the center of international strife, and they begin to realize that the Turkey they called home may be rapidly disappearing. Performed by Kieron Anthony, Ayse Babahan, Jamar Brathwaite, Sinan Eczacibasi*, Fahim Hamid*, and Nazli Sarpkaya, Field, Awakening is the second production in the second annual season of Corkscrew Theater Festival, a new summer theater festival that provides early-career artists with a high level of production support.
