Actor's Express continues its 34th season with a production of Lizzie, a blazing rock-and-roll musical based on the famous American history true crime story of Lizzie Borden. “Lizzie Borden took an axe and gave her mother forty whacks. When she saw what she had done, she gave her father forty-one.” Or did she? Lizzie is directed by Jennifer Alice Acker, with music direction by Ashley Prince and choreography by Bubba Carr.
ROE reflects the red-hot debate over Roe vs. Wade through the personal journeys of Norma McCorvey (“Jane Roe”) and Sarah Weddington, the lawyer who argued the landmark case at the Supreme Court. Conceived in a pizza parlor and argued in the highest court in the land, the 1973 decision legalized abortion—and it is again front and center this summer as it faces another review in the Supreme Court.
