The Anthropologists' three-camera digital capture of their critically acclaimed subversive comedy, No Pants in Tucson, is available for viewing online from December 1-15. The Anthropologists' new subversive comedy, 'No Pants in Tucson,' draws upon blatantly bigoted state laws from the 19th and 20th centuries that made it illegal for women to wear pants in public, courageously blending time and form to untangle the generational impact of gender oppressive laws. The world-premiere of 'No Pants in Tucson' begins November 5 and runs through November 14, 2021, at the Mezzanine Theatre at A.R.T./New York Theatres, 502 W 53rd St., New York 10019.

The festival will be presented on Governors Island multiple times each day from 11:30 am-4:30 pm. The festival will perform at various places across the island, using the local environments and sounds of the park.

Founding Artistic Director Akia Squitieri announced today that Rising Sun Performance Company will be presenting a rotation of children’s plays to be performed in person outdoors on Governors Island for two days August 21st & 22nd.

Award-winning theatre company The Anthropologists is launching an artist-led digital storytelling series, No Pants In Tucson: Digital. Founded in 2008, The Anthropologists is a women-led organization, centering women's experiences and putting strong female narratives at the forefront. 

After touring regionally, The Anthropologists' award-winning play, Artemisia's Intent, has been invited to return to NYC in honor of Women's History Month and the 20th Anniversary of the Estrogenius Festival.

Winner of Best Solo Drama (2018 FRIGID Festival), Artemisia's Intent delivers a tour-de-force performance to unearth the life, work and words of 17th century painter Artemisia Gentileschi. The show will launch its Fall 2019 regional tour at Art House Productions (262 17th Street Jersey City, NJ 07310) on Friday, October 18 and Saturday, October 19 at 8PM. Performances will kick off at Art House Productions in Jersey City on October 18-19, followed by a one night only engagement at the historic Cape May Stage on October 21. New York City based theatre podcast, Your Program Is Your Ticket, presents a special series of theatre interviews with artists from the 2018 Frigid Festival in New York. Award-winning playwright and podcast creator, Sean Chandler, hosts the interviews which include playwrights, directors, and actors, and features local, national, and Canadian artists. Episodes 51, 52 and 53 were just released and they feature artists from a wide range of Frigid shows including The Magicians Assistant, Artemisia's Intent, and mOTHER, a play, among others.

The Anthropologists' This Sinking Island, directed by Artistic Director Melissa Moschitto, celebrates the courage of refugee communities impacted by climate change.
