Rosie's Theater Kids 2025 Gala To Honor James Monroe Iglehart And Leslie Ziff

Rosie's Theater Kids will host its annual Passing It On Gala: An Evening of Mentorship, which will be held on Monday, May 5 at 583 Park Avenue. This year's event is hosted by comedian Judy Gold and will honor Tony Award-winning actor, writer, and director James Monroe Iglehart and philanthropist Leslie Ziff. The event will be helmed by RTKids Artistic Director Lisa Danser.

Mark DeGarmo Dance to Honor Deborah Jowitt with 'Educational Visonary' Lifetime Achievement Award

Mark DeGarmo Dance will honor dance writer DEBORAH JOWITT with the 2016 “Educational Visionary” Lifetime Achievement Award to celebrate her many accomplishments. Ms. Jowitt danced with notable names such as José Limon and Anna Sokolow, choreographed works shown in venues in both the United States and overseas, published articles in The New York Times, The Village Voice and Dance Magazine, among others, and has lectured, taught and conducted workshops at universities in the U.S. and abroad. The award is presented to “visionaries who have promoted innovation in education through the arts.” Fellow dance writer, dancer and choreographer, Gus Solomons, jr., will present Ms. Jowitt's award and comedian Nat Towsen, host of Nat Towsen's Downtown Variety Hour, will serve as Master of Ceremonies throughout the evening. New York's “Dance Party of the Year” includes hors d'oeuvres, drinks, a performance by our students, a dance lesson from our teaching artists and a silent auction featuring gift certificates, dinners, vacations, and more.

This by- invitation-only benefit, emceed by Katie Couric, is raised enough to provide more than 171,000 meals for New York's frail homebound aged. American Ballet Theatre (ABT) held its annual Opening Night Fall Gala benefit last night at the David H. Koch Theatre, hosting over 700 patrons, sponsors, supporters, friends, alumni and members of the Board of Trustees. ABT's inaugural season at the David H. Koch Theatre marks the Company's first return to the venue since 1976. The gala, which serves as the opening of ABT's fall season at the Koch Theatre, raised $1.65 million dollars and a portion of the proceeds will support ABT's education and community outreach programs.
