National Sawdust, the acclaimed non-profit that commissions, produces, and presents genre-spanning new music and interdisciplinary works, has announced that it has purchased its building in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and revealed the programming that will animate the venue this fall.

THE DJANGO, downtown Manhattan’s premier jazz club, is commemorating Women’s History Month by hosting more than 20 leading female jazz artists on its stage during March.

On August 28th, six-time Grammy winner Christian McBride will present Your Sound is Your Signature, his second instructional course for Open Studio.

On their new acoustic Brazilian jazz quartet album AT PLAY, Romero Lubambo (acoustic guitar,) Helio Alves (acoustic piano,) Edu Ribeiro (drums) & Reuben Rogers (double bass) deliver a nine-song collection of originals and covers, including tracks by legendary Brazilian songwriters Caetano Veloso, Dori Caymmi, Joao Bosco & Debora Gurgel.

With inspiring artists, deep content, passionate students and a soulful approach, Open Studio is more than a jazz learning platform – it's a global family of music lovers, joining together to celebrate jazz as a vibrant and collaborative art form.

Birdland Jazz Club has released its schedule for December 30-January 12. Performers include Marilyn Maye, John Pizzarelli and Jessica Molaskey Duo, The Billy Stritch Trio, and more. 

Vocalist and composer Céline Rudolph glides between Berlin, São Paulo, Paris and New York, between tongues and genres, always landing in the very heart of music. Céline is beyond happy to return to New York to play the second time at Club Bonafide with spectacular musicians Helio Alves (p), Edward Perez (b) and Mauricio Zottarelli (dr).

Singer Mafalda Minnozzi and guitarist Paul Ricci have broken musical ground in Brazil and Italy in a long running collaboration resulting in her notable solo career. Over time the freedom of their musical empathy overshadowed the usual larger band format resulting in a duo with its own unique language derived from both their Jazz and European upbringings and their extensive touring. Collectively they have recorded or performed with Milton Nascimento, Leny Andrade, Astrud Gilberto, Harold Vick, Sonny Fortune, Manolo Badrena, Guinga, Bebel Gilberto, Toquinho, Hugo Fattoruso, Bobby Sanabria, Dom Um Romao, Andre Mehmari, Roy Haynes, Harry Belafonte, Mike Clark and so many others.

Performing music from Duke Ellington, Monk, Jobim, Mingus,Toninho Horta, Stanley Turrentine, Noel Rosa and much more music from the American and Brazilian song book.

The holidays are a special time at The Nash as the renowned jazz club sprinkles a dash of holiday themed concerts throughout the month, bringing classic jazz and hot Latin sounds to warm up the holiday month. Highlights include the arrival of one of the most renowned samba bands, direct from New York City, Duduka da Fonseca Trio w/ Maucha Adnet on December 9th. Both Duduka and Maucha worked closely with the iconic Antonio Carlos Jobin, the King of Bossa Nova.
