The Berkshire Room - a craft cocktail lounge from The Fifty/50 Restaurant Group beverage director Benjamin Schiller located at 15 East Ohio Street inside the ACME Hotel Company in River North - will debut a new winter cocktail menu and an overhauled bar snacks menu starting at 4pm today.
Schiller and head bartender Luke Andrews have created six new house cocktails (all $12 each) that will join mainstay "The Weston". Two of the new house cocktails are "Workers On The Tracks Ahead" (Rye, Yellow Chartreuse, Dry Curacao, Orange Oil served in a rocks glass over a large piece of carved ice) and "Kung Fu Grip" (Rum, Amer Bigallet, Lemon, Grapefruit served up in a coupe glass). There is one new barrel-finished cocktail joining the five other barrel-finished cocktails on the new winter menu - a Brooklyn made with Rye, Amer Bigallet, Maraschino, and Dry Vermouth that's finished in a Four Roses OBSV bourbon barrel. All barrel-finished cocktails are $15 each. Schiller's wine and craft beer selections also received an update on its winter menu. The Berkshire Room executive chef Chris "Chip" Davies has changed about half of the savory upscale bar snacks menu. Menu highlights include: PICKLED SQUASH SLIDER with radish-celery slaw & mustard aioli on a potato bun; DUCK CONFIT & SWEET POTATO CROQUETTES with apple butter; PHEASANT POT PIE with parsnips & house buttermilk biscuit; and CHICKEN FRIED SWEETBREADS with bacon aioli, fried Brussels sprouts & Pecorino.Videos
