Her other Broadway credits include Camelot, My Fair Lady and The Boy Friend. In 1957, she appeared on TV in the title role in Cinderella, but her feature film debut was in Mary Poppins, which earned her the Oscar for Best Actress in 1964. She was nominated for another Academy Award in 1965 for The Sound of Music, and won a Golden Globe for her portrayal of 'Maria'. She also starred in the 1967 film version of Thoroughly Modern Millie. Her more recent big screen work includes The Princess Diaries, Shrek and Despicable Me.
