TV Land's remake of THE FIRST WIVES CLUB has found its third leading lady in Vanessa Lachey. Variety reports the actress will join previously announced Alyson Hannigan (How I Met Your Mother) and Megan Hilty (Broadway's Noises Off) in the cast.

The project will be a re-interpretation of the 1996 Paramount film, which starred Goldie Hawn, Bette Midler, and Diane Keaton. The story is set in present-day San Francisco. The three protagonists, women who were friends in the '90s, are reunited after their close college friend abruptly dies in an accident.

Lachey will play Sasha, described as "a driven and successful chef in San Francisco. She has it all - a hot restaurant and a great girlfriend who she plans to marry. But when she reconnects with her old friends after the death of their college roommate, she realizes she may not be as ready to settle down as she thought." Lachey's recent TV credits include TRUTH BE TOLD and DADS.

Hannigan will take on the role of Maggie, "an English professor at a university in San Francisco. Once an aspiring poet, she is a bright but frustrated woman who is struggling to put excitement back into her flagging marriage. When one of her old college friends dies, she is galvanized to finally make changes, starting with leaving her husband and tackling life with a renewed sense of adventure."

And Hilty will play Kim, who was "once a very successful actress" but "has 'aged out' of Hollywood. Needy and vulnerable, she works hard at staying fit and gorgeous, still hoping for that breakout role, while doing cheesy commercials. Divorced, with an eight year old son, Kim is happy to reconnect with old friends."
