Jerry Mitchell is currently developing a musical based on Terry Ronald's book, BECOMING NANCY, and the Daily Mail writes that Sophie-Louise Dann, Sally Ann Triplett (pictured, left) and newcomer Keith Ramsay have been tapped to a lead a workshop of the coming-of-age tale.

With music and lyrics by the HONK! songwriters George Stiles and Anthony Drewe, the show is aiming for a 2017 opening. Elliot Davis will also be involved in the creative process.

BECOMING NANCY, set in the late '70s, follows "a youth in South London who is cast as Nancy in a school production of Oliver!"

This news follows the recent launch of Mitchell's company Jerry Mitchell Productions, with Ambassador Theatre Group, which presented the West End's recent production of DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS. Mitchell is also working on another musical based on an unnamed album.

Among Mitchell's Broadway credits are KINKY BOOTS, LEGALLY BLONDE, BROADWAY BARES, THE FULLY MONTY, YOU'RE A GOOD MAN CHARLIE BROWN and more, as well as PEEPSHOW in Las Vegas.

Sophie-Louise Dann is currently starring in BEND IT LIKE BECKHAM in the West End. Among her other London credits are MADE IN DAGENHAM, LEND ME A TENOR, THE MIKADO, 42ND STREET, JOLSON, FORBIDDEN BROADWAY! and more.

Triplett, who recently appeared in Broadway's THE LAST SHIP, has starred in the West End in VIVA FOREVER, LEND ME A TENOR, MAMMA MIA!, CHICAGO, GUYS AND DOLLS, ANYTHING GOES, CATS, GREASE, CHESS, FOLLIES and THE BEST LITTLE WHOREHOUSE IN TEXAS, as well as CARRIE - THE MUSICAL in New York.
