Yesterday, May 9, The Canal Room hosted The Concert For A Healthy Birth, benefitting Choices in Childbirth, a leading national advocacy organization for maternity care and women's health. BroadwayWorld was on hand for the event and brings you photo coverage below.
Christy Turlington Burns, model, fashion icon, activist and director of the upcoming documentary about global maternal mortality, No Woman No Cry, and Dr. Christiane Northrup, women's health pioneer and bestselling author, was honored. The event, hosted by Choices in Childbirth board member, actress, talk show host and executive producer of The Business of Being Born, Ricki Lake, featured a concert with performances by: Lake, Broadway stars Josh Gad (Book of Mormon), Christopher Hanke (How to Succeed in Business...), Rebecca Jones (American Idiot), Alysha Umphress (American Idiot), John Hill (Hairspray), Natalie Joy Johnson (Legally Blonde), Elizabeth Stanley (Million Dollar Quartet) and artists from the world of rock and pop including Storm Large.
