A stirring amalgamation of dark indie folk, swinging gypsy jazz and big band orchestration threaded together by a series of apocalyptic allegories, Noah and the MegaFauna’s accomplished debut full-length album, Anthems for a Stateless Nation, was released this past fall on Silence Breaks (The Shivers, Kelli Scarr) and this February they visit Joe's Pub for an intimate performance. A clamorous, whiskey-fueled, horn-laden romp, the LP is 10 tracks of nightmare pop, a pre and post-apocalyptic tale of destruction, displacement, wandering, panic and ultimately redemption filtered through a dizzyingly eclectic array of influences spanning history, cultures and music from around the globe. Kat Edmonson will self release her sophomore album Way Down Low on Spinnerette Records April 10. The native Texan makes not only her songwriting debut on the record but also co-produces the album. The album was recorded at the historic Avatar Studio and Capitol Studios with Grammy-winning producer/engineer Al Schmitt (Ray Charles, Frank Sinatra, Sam Cooke) and producer/bassist Danton Boller.

Several of the twenty-five artists from around the world who have contributed to the release offer live performances related to their remixes and interpretations. The line up to date includes DJ Spooky (Executive Producer for the project), DJ Rekha, Don Byron, John Hollenbeck / Theo Bleckmann, Rubin Kodheli / North Sky Cello Ensemble, Shodekeh, and Pamela Z. Jeff LeBlanc is using his college degree a little differently than he first envisioned. His immediately familiar-sounding blend of pop and acoustic rock quickly took him from dorm room concerts at Sacred Heart University to a 60-date tour of colleges across the country, where he was praised as everything from "the new John Mayer" to an artist "perfectly in tune with his audience."His new album, "Worth Holding On To", was self-released on August 23rd, 2011 and quickly rose to #3 on the iTunes Top 200 Singer/Songwriter Chart. He's become a staple on the Sirius/XM Coffee House channel, even grabbing a nomination for their "Singer/Songwriter Discovery of 2011". Jeff's recently toured with the likes of the Goo Goo Dolls, Ingrid Michaelson, Matt Nathanson, Brett Dennen, David Archuleta and many more.

Celebrate the release of his latest album Tank Full of Blues with the legendary rock ‘n’ roller Dion (DiMucci). A street poet and singer of extraordinary versatility, range and resonance, Dion defined rock ‘n’ roll for a generation. Furthermore, music critics say he is the only first-generation rock and roll artist who has remained creative and relevant through the decades. Now the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame inductee has returned to his deepest roots and influences to release his first blues album composed almost entirely of original, newly written songs. Marketa Irglova, Academy Award winner and one half of The Swell Season will be performing two intimate shows in support of her recent debut solo record, Anar (ANTI). The setting at Joe's Pub should be the perfect backdrop for the classically trained pianist to perform songs from her catalog which includes songs from the movie and off-Broadway show, Once. She will be joined by a small band for these shows. Irglová collaborates with Glen Hansard of the Irish rock band The Frames, whom she met when he was visiting Valašské Mezi?í?í, and performs with him as The Swell Season. In 2007, she co-starred with Hansard in the indie movie, “Once” written and directed by John Carney. Hansard and Irglová wrote all but one of the songs featured in the film. The movie won the World Cinema Audience Award for a dramatic film at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival. Among the songs Irglová wrote with Hansard for Once was “Falling Slowly” which received an Academy Award for Best Original Song. Irglová became the first Czech woman to win an Oscar, and at age 19 she was the youngest person to win an Oscar in a musical category.

Theo Bleckmann is jazz singer and new music composer of eclectic tastes and prodigious gifts, Grammy nominated and ECHO award recipient Theo Bleckmann makes music that is accessibly sophisticated, unsentimentally emotional, and seriously playful, leading his work to be described as “from another planet” (New York Times), as “magical, futuristic,” (All About Jazz), “limitless” (Citypaper, Philadelphia) “transcendent” (Village Voice) and “brilliant” (New York Magazine). Bleckmann has released a series of gorgeous and irreverent albums on Winter & Winter, including his latest project: "Hello Earth - the music of Kate Bush."Bleckmann’s meeting with Germany’s piano wunderkind Michael Wollny at Jazz Baltica Festival in 2011 was hailed as the highlight of the festival by Germany’s most prominent newspaper F.A.Z. In their duo, Bleckmann and Wollny perform music across the genres from their own compositions to Portishead, Kraftwerk, jazz standards and Bernard Herman and infuse them with their strong musicality, generous irreverence and captivating playfulness.

Julia Haltigan grew up in New York City off the Bowery in the 1980s. Julia's songs have an antique, Americana-pop feel. Her lyrics create a collage of imagery that relates heartache, yearning and lust, to motorcycles, fake tattoos and viruses. At times her powerful, sultry voice booms above her six-piece band while at other times she showcases her soft and sexy side melting your heart. Julia's music arouses nostalgia for the classics, evoking the likes of Tom Waits, Nancy Sinatra, and Betty Boop. She puts you out like a Lucky cigarette in an ice cream cone. Her self-released, self-titled second album was released in May 2009. The album is a refreshing addition to the current music scene, combining old-time music influences with Julia’s own whimsical style. Now in his fourth year in New York City, Alfonso Velez has just released his 10th album available on Orbital Records. Recorded in a dance hall in Manhattan's Flatiron District, the mercurial and multilingual Velez has remained elusive and surprising throughout his strong performances, approaching his work as a painter does the canvas; in movements. Analogizing his latest works with Paul Simon's and Elliott Smith's, reviewer David G Robbins wrote, "songwriting doesn't get much stronger than that," while New York's Deli Magazine named him one of their top ten emerging artists.

After weathering a frustrating period of development deals, demos, and one forgotten album (1996's Snacks, released by Plump Records) during the '90s, indie rock singer/songwriter Sam Bisbee took things into his own hands. Gathering together talented players such as Charlie Drayton (the B-52's, Keith Richards), Peter Adams (Tracy Bonham, Juliana Hatfield), and guitarist/recording artist John Wolfington, Bisbee headed into Philip Glass' Looking Glass studios to make his own album his own way. The result was Bisbee's re-emergence with 2001's Vehicle, a concoction of tuneful guitar pop, drum loops, samples, and Bisbee's winsome, smart songcraft. The effort featured guest vocals by Leona Naess on the driving opener, "Miracle Car." “Literate but not pretentious, emotional but never cloying, inevitable but never predictable, Bisbee's songs don't wilt in the spotlight, but flourish."- The Boston Herald

Jimmy Destri, founding member, keyboardist, and hit songwriter of the legendary group, Blondie, has formed a new band, "Jimmy Destri and The Sound Grenade." Backed by some of today's best musicians--the band plays Destri only penned songs from his vast Blondie catalog, solo efforts and raw new material. Destri who's been largely attributed as the master behind the Blondie sound is back showing Arcade Fire (among many others) where that synth sound really comes from. Winner of the 2011 NYMF’s Next Broadway Sensation competition, musician/actor/dancer Dawn Cantwell makes her Joe’s Pub solo concert debut. Originally from the wilderness of Altadena, California, Dawn came to New York City to study theatre at NYU’s Classical Studio and CAP 21. Since then, she has been seen onstage at City Center, currently has a film in production, and just finished recording her EP in Los Angeles with her brother Ryan. Join Dawn and some of her friends as they use music to explore the ineffable through her original material, as well as works by rising songwriters, and a few fresh takes on hit classics.

Celebrate the most glamorous night in Hollywood with Murray Hill "the hardest working middle-aged man in show business" as he hosts his 11th Annual OSCAR Party in NYC at Joe's Pub. Murray will be joined by special guests who will re-enact favorite scenes from this years nominated films and liven up the evening when the boring tributes go on...and on...and on.... In what has become a downtown OSCAR tradition, Murray provides his infamous running commentary during commercial breaks and leaves no star behind with his barbed wit and one-liners. The evening will feature impromptu performances, impersonations of the nominated stars, movie spoofs, movie trivia games and lots of prizes, including a grand prize to the Winner of the OSCAR PREDICTION BALLOT! Ballots will be handed out before the show. The audience will compete for "Best" and "Worst" Dressed. Audience is encouraged to dress like their favorite celebrity for the chance to win fabulous silly prizes. The evening of pure "showbiz" begins at 7:00 pm with Oscar Pre-Show Red Carpet and continues with the complete Oscar telecast at 8:00 pm shown on a giant screen.
