Starting today, over 150 celebrities - actors, musicians, writers, models, photographers, performers - are auctioning off unique personal photos and selfies as part of the MIX NYC #NakedEye Camera Benefit. To bid, visit mixnyc.org/nakedeye. A full list of participating celebrities is included at the end of this release; auctions close on May 22nd.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see inside the lives of some of your favorite celebrities - an unfiltered glimpse through their NAKED EYE at the way they live, what they do in their downtime, or perhaps even new projects that they can't announce publicly. All monies raised support MIX NYC, the queer experimental film organization & home of the longest continually running queer film festival in NYC.

The Naked Eye benefit features some of the biggest names in film (James Franco, Michael Cera, Parker Posey, Joseph GordonLevitt), TV (Julie Bowen, Lea DeLaria, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Guillermo Diaz, Wendi McLendonCovey, Dan Bucatinsky), theater (John Cameron Mitchell, Andrew KeenanBolger, Betty Buckley), music (Le1f, The Julie Ruin, Stephin Merritt), literature (Hilton Als, Michelle Tea, Wayne Kostenbaum), drag (Alaska Thunderfuck, Bianca Del Rio, Adore Delano, Lady Bunny), adult (Buck Angel, Sasha Grey, Colby Keller, the men of CockyBoys), and fine art (Catherine Opie, Zackary Drucker, Terence Koh).

Each celebrity has taken a disposable camera worth of photos, which are being auctioned "naked," i.e. with undeveloped negatives included, giving fans a unique opportunity to own original, oneofakind photographic artworks. Celebrity partners have been encouraged to have fun and create candid and surprising images that reflect their real lives. With top actors, comedians, musicians, drag queens, and even adult stars participating, there truly are images to appeal to all types.

A kickoff party emceed by RuPaul's Drag Race superstar Alaska Thunderfuck will celebrate the Naked Eye on May 15th at New York City's famed downtown venue The Slipper Room, described by the Times as "a beacon in the New York burlesque scene." There will be live performances, fantastic prizes, & VIP experiences.

Admission is $25 in advance or at the door, with a limited number of $50 VIP frontrow seats available. Advance tickets are available on the Ticketfly website: ticketfly.com/event/566743guesteventnakedeyenewyork.

About MIX NYC: Proceeds from the auction will benefit MIX NYC, the nonprofit home of the New York Queer Experimental Film Festival, the longestrunning queer film festival in New York City and a decisive launching pad for emerging talents - including some of the bestknown names in cinema today. Over the years, the festival has debuted early works from such wellknown artists as Todd Haynes, Jennie Livingston, Miranda July, Gus Van Sant, Barbara Hammer, Isaac Julien, and many others.

Originally founded in 1987 by filmmaker Jim Hubbard (United in Anger) and author Sarah Schulman (People in Trouble, Gentrification of the Mind), the MIX organization was born in the crucible of the AIDS crisis to devise new media and avantgarde artistic forms that called attention to the epidemic and its social injustices. Since then, MIX has run an exciting, explosive film festival for the last 26 years attracting thousands of attendees from around the world. MIX NYC has served as the inspiration for other film festivals internationally as well, including MIX Brazil, MIX Mexico, MIX Copenhagen and MIX Milan.

Today, MIX NYC sponsors film screenings throughout New York's five boroughs, conducts film preservation projects, and offers media training for lowincome and atrisk LGBTQ youth. It is also home to the ACT UP Oral History Project, and the fiscal sponsor of the Oscarnominated 2013 AIDS documentary How to Survive a Plague. For these and other programs, MIX NYC receives support from the New York State Council on the Arts, New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, Materials for the Arts, and the generosity of many individuals.
