The Acting Company will present a benefit staged reading of Murderers, a new play by Jeffrey Hatcher (Never Gonna Dance, Tuesdays with Morrie) at 7 pm on Monday, February 24 at the Mainstage Theater (Playwrights Horizons), 416 West 42nd Street (9th-10thAvenues). The performance-starring Acting Company Alumna and Tony-winner Harriet Harris (Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella, Encores!Little Me), Marylouise Burke (TV's Alpha House) and Reg Rogers (The Big Knife)-will be followed by a reception with the cast and director, Ian Belknap, Artistic Director of The Acting Company. Tickets @ $35 and $60 (Patron) are available from 212-258-3111.

"Murderers is Jeffrey Hatcher's new play that tells us whodunit right off the bat. The best part is how they dun it and why as told in a series of three monologues," said Margot Harley, Producer of The Acting Company. "Ian Belknap will put his deft touch on it as he did on off-Broadway'sOf Mice and Men and the recent run of Hamlet."

The Acting Company is on its 41st national tour of Tom Stoppard's Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, directed by John Rando, running in repertory with Hamlet (Ian Belknap directs). Founded by John Houseman, Margot Harley, Kevin Kline, Patti LuPone, David Schramm and David Ogden Stiers in 1972, The Acting Company has toured to 49 states and 10 foreign countries earning a TONY for Excellence in Theater, Obies, Audelcos and Los Angeles Critics Circle Awards. Rainn Wilson, Frances Conroy, Jeffrey Wright, Harriet Harris, Keith David, Hamish Linklater andJesse L. Martin are but a handful of other performers who began their careers on tour with The Acting Company.
