HEDWIG's Tits of Clay to Play Mercury Lounge, Today
Hand picked by Stephen Trask to be the Angry Inch in the upcoming Broadway production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch these talented artists bonded almost immediately and it became clear that the stage at the Belasco Theater couldn't contain their creativity. Tits of Clay was born out of the idea that any proper production of Hedwig must be true to its roots and form not in a rehearsal hall but in the down and dirty rock clubs of New York City. Embracing that ethic the Tits hurled themselves onto the stage of Rockwood Music Hall last month for an invite only event, generating a buzz rarely associated with the boards of Broadway!
Tits of Clay shows are one part party, one part homage to Hedwig's past and a really fun night out with your friends! Currently the band is exploring the roots of the show and this incarnation finds them in the guise of the best punk rock juke- box you'll find anywhere! There will always be guest artists, but we'll never tell you who's coming in advance!
Tits Of Clay will play Mercury Lounge on Saturday March 15th. Doors open at 10:30. Tickets are $10 in advance $12 day of show and are available at the Mercury Lounge Box Office or online at: http://www.mercuryloungenyc.com/event/500419-tits-clay-new-york.
