Broadway's 40 theatres aren't the only places to catch performances from your favorite stars! Well after Broadway orchestras begin their overtures, ensemble members take their dance breaks, and performers belt out their eleven o'clock numbers, the party continues at various cabaret venues throughout New York City.

Nick Adams Hosts Broadway for Africa

The Broadway at Birdland concert series is proud to announce that Nick Adams will host Broadway For Africa, a star-studded benefit, on Monday, April 4 at 7pm.

Broadway star Nick Adams will host a benefit concert to support The International Theatre and Literacy Project's youth programs in Rwanda and South Africa. He will be joined onstage with performances by special guests Will Swenson and Tony Sheldon (his co-stars in Priscilla, Queen of the Desert), Alison Luff (Matilda), Julia Murney (Wicked), Elisio Roman (On Your Feet) and The Skivvies. Musical director for the evening will be Tedd Firth and his trio.

Nick Adams recently played Fiyero in the first National Tour of Wicked. Previous Broadway credits include Adam/Felicia in Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, LaCage Aux Folles, Guys and Dolls, A Chorus Line, The Pirate Queen and Chicago.Nick is the proud winner of two Broadway.com Audience Choice Awards. Will Swenson has been seen on Broadway as Javert in Les Miserables, Tick/Mitzi in Priscilla,Queen of the Dessert, Berger in Hair , 110 in the Shade with his wife Audra McDonald, Lestat and Brooklyn. Tony Sheldon is a Tony nominee and Theatre World Award winner for his performance as Bernadette in Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. He is currently playing Julius Caesar in Charles Busch's Cleopatra at Theatre For The New City.

The International Theatre and Literacy Project (ITLP) uses theatre as a means of social and educational uplift for children and teen-agers struggling with the challenges of poverty, crime, violence, gender inequity and inequality in developing countries. ITLP conducts theatre workshops to teach English literacy, develop independent thinking, self-empowerment, leadership skills and gender equity. We strive to help young people advance their educational and employment opportunities and nurture their voices as leaders to enable growth, change and community development. Current programs in South Africa, Rwanda and Tanzania.

Greg Hildreth

You may (or may not) remember Greg Hildreth from being dimly lit to the left of Benjamin Walker in the original cast of Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, stepping out from behind the ropes and bamboo sticks upstage of Celia Keenan-Bolger and Christian Borle in the original cast of Peter and the Starcatcher, or mugging downstage left of Santino Fontana and Laura Osnes in the original cast of Cinderella. Come enjoy him in an encore of his Feinstein's/54 Below solo debut: Second Fiddle: an evening of songs and stories about performing immediately stage left or right of beautiful people.

Featuring special guests Christian Borle, Santino Fontana, Celia Keenan-Bolger, and Steven Pasquale.

54 Sings Chaka Khan Featuring LaChanze, Lindsay Mendez, and More

54 Sings The Music of Chaka Khan will be an extremely exciting and dynamic night of music. Featuring some of Chaka Khan's most notable hits from the 70s and 80's including "I'm Every Woman," "We Can Work It Out," "Tell Me Something Good," "Through The Fire," and many more, the evening will feature an 8-piece band consisting of the world's top musicians music directed by drummer Jared Schonig (Pippin, The Color Purple). You can expect to hear Tony and Emmy Award winner LaChanze (If/Then, original The Color Purple); Broadway stars Lindsay Mendez (Wicked, Godspell), Bre Jackson (The Color Purple, The Book of Mormon); vocal powerhouses Shayna Steele (International Recording artist, Bette Midler, Rihanna),Amy Lynn Zanetto (Radio City Christmas Spectacular, Amy Lynn & The Gunshow); and Jennie Harney (Motown National Tour). More performers to be announced.

The Cast of Broadway's Phantom of the Opera Sings the Music of Frank Wildhorn

The Broadway at Birdland concert series is proud to announce that the cast of Broadway's Phantom of the Opera will collaborate and sing the music of Frank Wildhorn on Sunday, April 10 at 6pm. The one-night-only event will be a benefit concert for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

Laughing Dog Media and James Barbour will present and host "The Cast of Broadway's Phantom of the Opera Sings the Music of Frank Wildhorn," a benefit concert for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. This concert, the second in a series of benefits by the Phantom cast, will celebrate the canon of multiple Tony-nominated composer Frank Wildhorn. Wildhorn has composed the music for Jekyll & Hyde, The Scarlet Pimpernel, The Civil War, Bonnie and Clyde and Wonderland, among others.

Scheduled to perform are James Barbour (Phantom), Julie Udine (Christine), Jeremy Hays (Raoul), Michelle McConnell, Laird Macintosh and Jeremy Stolle. (Cast subject to change.)
