Billboard.com reports that a new "musical spectacular" featuring a unique tribute to Academy Award-nominated director Baz Luhrmann is set to take up residency at Las Vegas' Mandalay Bay. Cirque du Soleil Theatrical and For The Record will team on the exciting production.

For The Record: BAZ will bring together highlights from Moulin Rouge, The Great Gatsby and Romeo + Juliet as well as choreography by Emmy-nominated Spencer Liff (HEDWIG, So You Think You Can Dance). The show will run at Mandalay Bay' nightclub, LIGHT, which typically features Cirque du Soleil performers.

Commented Scott Zeiger, president of Cirque du Soleil Theatrical, "When we discovered For The Record we instantly knew that their vision of turning popular cinema into immersive entertainment would be a perfect match for Las Vegas." He continues, "We are excited about this unique partnership and thrilled to bring BAZ to LIGHT at Mandalay Bay in this uniquely staged residency."

Previous For The Record productions have showcased the works of legendary directors Quentin Tarantino, Martin Scorsese, John Hughes and Robert Zemeckis. Created by Shane Scheel, Christopher Lloyd Bratten and Anderson Davis, BAZ will "give audiences the feeling of being at a rock concert, musical and nightclub at the same time."
