Of course the launch of voting for the 2014 BWW:UK Awards is the biggest story on this side of the pond this month...but in case you're looking for a new show or two, then London is definitely the place to be.

The West End is having a bit of an overhaul this month. Urinetown - after a successful run at the St James Theatre earlier in the year - moves in to the Apollo, with the delightful Jenna Russell leading the cast.

A new musical theatre leading lady steps on to the stage at the Adelphi as Gemma Arterton heads up Made in Dagenham, based on the true story of the Ford factory workers.

The Scottsboro Boys wowed the crowds at the Young Vic - and now they're back at the Garrick for a limited time only.

And the Kinks get their moment in the sun with Sunny Afternoon, a transfer from its terrific Hampstead Theatre run.

Like your musical theatre smaller scale? The Union Theatre's Howard Goodall season continues with a chamber production of Love Story, which never really seemed to take hold in the West End but has been immensely successful in recent regional revivals.

There are some interesting plays on offer too - Jane Horrocks features in East is East, the latest in Jamie Lloyd's Trafalgar Transformed season, and the classic Our Town gets a run at the Almeida.

And that's just in London. And the festive season shows haven't even begun to kick in yet...
