Artistrun Gallery is pleased to present The Summer Show, a Group art show of exciting contemporary artists. Please join us on Thursday May 29th,2014 from 6Pm-9Pm for the exhibition opening and to meet the artists.
This exhibition featuring art works by Chris Watts, Chungho Lyu, Coqle Aragrev, John McMullen, kenneth Iacoviello, Lesley Harries-Jones and Monel Aliote.
Chris Watts has found that the style of his work varies, from Abstract Expressionism, Impressionism, Cubism, Surrealism, Pop Art, and figurative work.
Chungho Lyu works talk about human nature and personality. She says-I try to depict us who have so many different "I" through duplicity, desire and loneliness etc
Coqle Aragrev Born in Lima Peru painting, what is within her culture which is richness and color.
John McMullen has been a photographer nearly all his life . In early 2000 he moved to the neighborhood of "Hells Kitchen" in New York City where the movie "West Side Story" was shot starring Natalie Wood. John became fascinated with the Latin culture of the neighborhood there at that time and soon discovered two neighborhood girls that he came to photograph for the "Rock Girls" series over a span of two years .
Ken Iacoviello is an aspiring artist of the millennial generation. The Staten-Island born Astoria based transplant fled his cozy island in search of bigger dreams. Digital Art, Interpretive Dance, and Poetry are his preferred utensils to broaden his ability to love. Autism Therapist by day, Creator by night.
Lesley Harries-Jones is a Canadian artist currently residing in Toronto. Lesley's paintings are representations of the tenuous relationship between man and nature. Interested in the environment she uses a variety of mediums including wax, oil pigment and tar to visually document the evolving destruction of our environment.
Monel Aliote has always wanted to express the living essence of a human being in art. He wanted to depict the character, emotions, attitudes, intentions, mood, etc. behind a portrait; He wanted to paint the spirit and the soul of a person as well as their physical appearance
