83 year old Sigmund Freud awaits the arrival of a young Oxford professor named C.S. Lewis to his London study. As World War II descends upon Britain, a monumental clash between two great thinkers is brewing. Amid the tension and the wail of air-raid sirens, questions of love, sex, the existence of God, and the meaning of life rise to the surface. But who will gain the upper hand in what will become Freud’s Last Session?

Nicholi, Jr. It premiered in the summer of 2009, at the Barrington Stage Company in Pittsfield, Massachusetts before heading to New York, where it won the Best Play Award from the Off-Broadway Alliance.
Starring Finlay McLean (Taggart, Regeneration) as Dr Sigmund Freud and John Kay Steel (Case Histories, Law and Order) as C.S Lewis, Freud's Last Session is a deeply touching play filled with humour and exploring the minds, hearts and souls of two brilliant men addressing the greatest questions of all time.
