This year's shortlist for the 56th Annual London Evening Standard Theatre Awards have been announced, placing LEGALLY BLONDE's Sheridan Smith as one of the nominees for the Natasha Richardson Award for Best Actress.

LEGALLY BLONDE also holds promise as a contender for the Ned Sherrin Award for Best Musical, which includes LES MISERABLES and PASSION.

Listed under the Milton Shulman Award for Outstanding Newcomer are former Spice Girl Melanie Chisholm for her performance in BLOOD BROTHERS, Shannon Tarbet for her performance in SPUR OF THE MOMENT, Daniel Kaluuya for his performance in SUCKER PUNCH, Isabella Laughland for her performance in WANDERLUST and You Me Bum Bum Train created by Kate Bond and Morgan Lloyd.

Other awards presented at the LES Theatre Awards are for Best Actor, Best Play, Best Design, Best Director and the Charles Wintour Award for Most Promising Playwright.

The LES Theatre Awards will be presented by Stephen Fry on Sunday, November 28 at The Savoy Hotel.
