BY AND STARRING ALEX EDELMAN | DIRECTED BY ADAM BRACE
JUST FOR US takes the audience through hilarious anecdotes from Alex Edelman’s life — his Olympian brother AJ, an unconventional holiday season, and a gorilla that can do sign language — but at its center is an astonishing and frighteningly relevant story. After a string of anti-Semitic abuse is directed at Edelman online, he decides to covertly attend a gathering of White Nationalists in New York City and comes face–to–face with the people behind the keyboards. The result is a hair-raising encounter that gives JUST FOR US its title and final, jaw-dropping moments.
“Belly-laugh funny! A brisk, smart provocation of a monologue.”
Critic’s Pick
THE NEW YORK TIMES
“Uproarious. Among Edelman’s many strengths as a writer and performer is an eye for the absurd”
THE NEW YORKER
“A sharp minded solo show. Edelman is a master.”

'Where We Belong' is a beautiful production, with a gorgeous script and an entrancing quality that can be attributed to the best of theatrical experiences. It shares some hard truths, some heart-wrenching moments and realizations, and challenges perspectives, but the love and care that shines through the whole production is incredibly compelling.

What did our critic think of MY MAMA AND THE FULL SCALE INVASION at Woolly Mammoth Theatre? How do you tell the story of a person who has lived 1,000 lives? How do you capture a life that includes being born into Nazi occupation, raising a child, surviving a massive nuclear accident, and a full-scale invasion of a homeland…all in a tight, 90-minute package?
