Dieci anni dopo l'apertura dello spettacolo al Walter Kerr Theatre nell'ottobre 2016, l'intero cast originale del revival di Falsettos al Lincoln Center si riunirà per una serata unica di celebrazione del musical di William Finn e James Lapine. La performance si terrà lunedì 18 ottobre 2026 alle ore 19:00 presso lo Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage al Carnegie Hall.
Le stelle del revival, la vincitrice del Tony Award Stephanie J. Block, il vincitore del Tony Award Christian Borle, il nominato al Tony Award Andrew Rannells, la candidata all’Emmy Award Tracie Thoms, il vincitore del Tony Award Brandon Uranowitz e la nominata al Tony Award Betsy Wolfe riprenderanno tutti i loro ruoli, con una partecipazione speciale di Anthony Rosenthal, il 'Jason' originale del revival. Vadim Feichtner tornerà come Direttore Musicale e Direttore d'Orchestra, dirigendo una band composta dalla maggior parte dei musicisti originali del revival.

"Sono entusiasta di avere la possibilità di rivisitare questo straordinario spettacolo con questo incredibile cast", ha detto Andrew Rannells. "Far parte del revival del 2016 rimane uno dei momenti di cui sono più orgoglioso della mia carriera, e portarlo sul palco del Carnegie Hall sembra sia surreale che profondamente significativo. È un enorme onore e un bellissimo tributo al lavoro straordinario di Bill e James."
"Sto cercando di immaginare cosa si proverà quando le luci si spegneranno e questa compagnia tornerà sul palco insieme per la prima volta in dieci anni, e onestamente, penso che nessuno di noi sia pronto per quel momento," ha aggiunto Wolfe. Questo concerto di una sera è un'opportunità per quei fan di vivere ciò che non può essere completamente catturato su uno schermo: l'elettricità di questo cast riunito, l'immediatezza del teatro dal vivo e il cuore e l'umanità che rendono Falsettos così indimenticabile," ha dichiarato Block.
Originariamente prodotto come Falsettoland nel 1990, questo musical innovativo racconta la storia di un uomo gay chiamato Marvin, del suo amante Whizzer, della moglie di Marvin, Trina, e della loro famiglia allargata dagli inizi degli anni '80 fino ai primi giorni della crisi dell'AIDS. Il revival ha aperto il 27 ottobre 2016 al Walter Kerr Theatre e ha ricevuto cinque nomination ai Tony Award, inclusa quella per il Miglior Revival. La produzione è stata anche filmata per la serie Live from Lincoln Center della PBS. Dieci anni dopo, questa reunion celebrerà l'impatto profondo del musical sul pubblico e onorerà l'eredità del lavoro fondamentale di William Finn e James Lapine, portandolo a una nuova generazione dal palco di una delle sedi più iconiche del mondo.
