Ohio State Murders is a one-act historical drama by playwright Adrienne Kennedy, directed by Philip Akin, making its Shaw Festival debut. Renowned author and Ohio State University alumna Suzanne Alexander, played by Sophia Walker, returns to her alma mater to speak about graphic imagery in her writing, confronting the racism and injustice she experienced as a Black woman in 1950s Ohio. André Morin plays Robert Hampshire, her former English professor with whom she had an illicit relationship. The production features set and costume design by Melanie McNeill, lighting by Jeff Pybus, original music and sound by Jacob Lin, and movement direction by Alexis Milligan.
