The Theatre World Awards Board of Directors (Dale Badway, President), and The Dorothy Loudon Foundation (Lionel Larner, Executive Director), have announced the 2017 Theatre World Award Honorees for Outstanding Broadway or Off-Broadway Debut Performance, the 9th Annual Dorothy Loudon Award Honoree for Excellence in the Theater and the 5th Annual John Willis Award Honoree for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre who will be celebrated at the 73rd Annual Theatre World Awards Ceremony on Monday evening, June 5, 2017 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at The Imperial Theatre (249 West 45th Street), current home of The Great Comet, recipient of 12 Tony Award nominations including Best Musical.

Broadway fans who aren't inside Radio City Music Hall on Sunday, June 11, can still revel in all things theatre with their fellow enthusiasts when Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS returns to host Tony Awards at Feinstein's/54 Below, the ultimate awards show viewing party.

The awards include a cash prize of $2,500 for Best Play, made possible by a grant from the Lucille Lortel Foundation. The awards will be presented at a private cocktail reception on Thursday, May 18.

The 2017 Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway were handed out last night to recipients in 19 categories, with three honorary awards also bestowed. The Lortel Awards were distributed in a ceremony at NYU Skirball Center hosted by actor and comedian Taran Killam. Christopher Akerlind has won the 2017 Tony Award for Best Lighting Design of a Play for INDECENT.

Rebecca Taichman has won the 2017 Tony Award for Best Direction of a Play for INDECENT.

Jane Greenwood has won the 2017 Tony Award for Best Costume Design of a Play for LILLIAN HELLMAN'S THE LITTLE FOXES.

Andy Blankenbuehler has won the 2017 Tony Award for Best Choreography for BANDSTAND.

Outer Critics Circle, the organization of writers and commentators for media covering New York theatre announced today its award winners for the 2016-17 season in 27 categories.
