2026 AWARDS SEASON

The Tony Awards® Administration Committee has announced that Gareth Fry and Pete Malkin will be presented a Special Tony Award for their outstanding Sound Design on The Encounter.  

New Dramatists, Tony Honor recipient and the nation's premier playwright development laboratory, will honor 10-time Tony Award-winning producer Daryl Roth and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paula Vogel with their 2017 Outstanding Career Achievement Awards at its 68th Annual Spring Luncheon tribute.

The big day is here! The 71st Annual Tony Award Nominations will be announced today, May 2, from the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center. The Tony Awards Administration Committee has announced that based on the recommendation by the American Theatre Critics Association, that the Dallas Theater Center in Dallas, TX, will be the recipient of the 2017 Regional Theatre Tony Award.

Award winning playwright Jonathan Tolins (Buyer and Cellar, The Twilight of the Golds, The Last Sunday in June) will write the 2017 Drama Desk Awards show, it was announced today by Gretchen Shugart, the Managing Executive Producer of the Drama Desk Awards and Charles Wright, the President of the Drama Desk.

The Tony Awards Administration Committee met today for the fourth and final time this season and confirmed the eligibility of 16 Broadway productions for the 2017 American Theatre Wing's Tony Awards®, presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing. The Tony Awards Administration Committee met a total of four times throughout the 2016-2017 season to decide the eligibility for the 71st Annual Tony Awards.
