2025 AWARDS SEASON

Tony Award-winners Patina Miller (Pippin) and Bebe Neuwirth (Chicago) will announce the 2017 Drama League Awards Nominees for Outstanding Production of a Play, Outstanding Production of a Musical, Outstanding Revival of a Play, Outstanding Revival of a Musical, and the much-coveted Distinguished Performance Award later this morning, April 19, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Sardi's (234 West 44th Street, 2nd Floor).

The Drama League (Executive Artistic Director, Gabriel Stelian-Shanks) has announced today that Broadway husband-and-wife royalty -- 6-time Tony Award winner Audra McDonald (Lady Day at Emerson's Bar & Grill) and Tony Award nominee Will Swenson (Hair) -- will host the upcoming 83rd Annual Drama League Awards Ceremony and Luncheon.

The 2017 TONY AWARDS are just around the corner and theater fans are anxiously awaiting word as to who will take on hosting duties for this year's ceremony.

The Drama League has announced, today, Tony Award-winners Patina Miller (Pippin) and Bebe Neuwirth (Chicago) will announce the 2017 Drama League Awards Nominees for Outstanding Production of a Play, Outstanding Production of a Musical, Outstanding Revival of a Play, Outstanding Revival of a Musical, and the much-coveted Distinguished Performance Award on Wednesday morning, April 19, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Sardi's (234 West 44th Street, 2nd Floor).

As previously announced, the inaugural Chita Rivera Awards will be produced by American Dance Machine for the 21st Century (ADM21) and its Founder and Producing Artistic Director, Nikki Feirt Atkins.

Today's the day! The 2017 Pulitzer Prize Winners and Nominated Finalists will be announced in just minutes- April 10 at 3pm eastern daylight time via live-stream on pulitzer.org.

It was just announced by Pulitzer Prize administrator Mike Pride that Lynn Nottage's SWEAT has officially won the 2017 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

The Tony Awards Administration Committee met today for the third time this season and confirmed the eligibility of six Broadway productions for the 2017 American Theatre Wing's Tony Awards®, presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing. The Tony Awards Administration Committee will meet a total of four times throughout the 2016-2017 season to decide the eligibility for the 71st Annual Tony Awards.

The Off-Broadway League today announced nominations in 19 categories for the 32nd Annual Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway.

Tickets went on sale this morning, April 4th, for the 62nd Annual Drama Desk Awards, and can be purchased at www.DramaDeskAwards.com. This year's awards, hosted by Michael Urie, will be held at The Town Hall (123 W. 43rd Street) on Sunday, June 4th.

Put on your Sunday clothes! The Drama League will honor Grammy- and Emmy Award-winning, icon Bette Midler with the Distinguished Achievement in Musical Theater Award at this year's 83rd Annual Drama League Awards, set for Friday afternoon, May 19, 2017 at the Marriott Marquis Times Square (1535 Broadway).

The honor of unsealing the list of 2017 nominees will go to two a pair of nominees from 2016: Christopher Jackson, who created the role of George Washington in Hamilton; and past Tony-winner Jane Krakowski.

The Outer Critics Circle, the organization of writers covering New York theatre for out-of-town newspapers, national publications and other media beyond Broadway, is proud to announce Broadway's "Fiddler on the Roof" star Danny Burstein along with last season's high-kicking "She Loves Me" sensation and TV favorite Jane Krakowski will announce the nominees for the 2016-17 season on Tuesday, April 25th(11 AM) in the Oak Room at New York's renowned Algonquin Hotel (59 West 44th Street). Outer Critics Circle will announce two new award categories this year, "Outstanding Sound Design" and "Outstanding Orchestrations" to increase award nominations to 27 categories. Outer Critics Circle nominations are the first major Broadway/Off-Broadway award nominees of the New York theatre season.

Glenn Weiss and the directing team of the 70th Annual Tony Awards, have been nominated for a Director's Guild Award in the category of Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Variety/Talk/News/Sports-Specials. This is Weiss' 13th DGA Award nomination.

Barrington Stage Company (BSC), the award-winning theatre in Downtown Pittsfield, MA, under the leadership of Artistic Director Julianne Boyd and Managing Director Tristan Wilson, swept the First Annual Berkshire Theatre Awards last night, winning 20 out of possible 25 awards. Winners of the awards-nicknamed "The Berkies"-were first announced on Monday, October 17, 2016, and awards were presented Sunday, November 13 at a ceremony held at Mr. Finn's Cabaret (36 Linden St) in Pittsfield, MA.

The winners of the First Annual Berkshire Theatre Awards - already being nicknamed "The Berkies" - will gather at 5 pm on Sunday, November 13, 2016  at Mr. Finn's Cabaret in Pittsfield.

Theatre luminaries will gather on Monday, November 14, 2016, to honor award-winning playwright Sarah Ruhl with the 2016 Steinberg Distinguished Playwright Award, presented by The Harold and Mimi Steinberg Charitable Trust.

Four theater artists will be honored by the Henry Hewes Design Awards Committee during the presentation of its 2016 Awards in a luncheon ceremony to be held November 7, 2016.

The Tony Awards Administration Committee met yesterday for the first time this season and confirmed the eligibility of two Broadway productions, Paramour and Cats, for the 2017 American Theatre Wing's Tony Awards®. The two productions are consistent with opening night billing.

On October 24, the Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation (SDC Foundation) will celebrate the 27th Annual Joe A. Callaway Award winners for Direction and Choreography at the Laurie Beechman Theatre. The evening will be hosted by former Callaway Award-winning Jack O'Brien and Callaway Award finalist Joshua Bergasse.
