2024 AWARDS SEASON

Among the Directors Guild of America's nominees for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Television and Commercials for the year 2013 are NBC's THE SOUND OF MUSIC LIVE! and last year's TONY Awards. The winners will be announced at the 66th Annual DGA Awards Dinner tonight, January 25, 2014 at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles.

The Off-Broadway League today announced details for the 2014 Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway. The 29th Annual Lucille Lortel Awards will be handed out on Sunday, May 4, 2014 at NYU Skirball Center, beginning at 7:00pm EST. The program will be hosted by acclaimed husband and wife actors and comedians, Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman, who will appear on-stage together in the upcoming Off-Broadway production of Annapurna for The New Group. Veteran theater producer Robyn Goodman will be presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

The State Theatre Center for the Arts announces the 2014 FREDDY Awards, the 12th year of the program, recognizing and rewarding exceptional accomplishments in the production and performance of musical theater in high schools in Lehigh and Northampton Counties, Pennsylvania, and Warren County, New Jersey. The 2014 program will feature 31 schools, the most in the programs history, and will include a first time appearance by Lincoln Leadership Academy Charter School who will present In the Heights in April.

The stunt performers and coordinators from "Lone Survivor" and "Game of Thrones" are recipients of this year's Honors for Outstanding Action Performances by Film and Television Stunt Ensembles, it was announced today from the "20th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards" red carpet by Screen Actors Guild Awards Committee members Scott Bakula and Shelley Fabares.

The 20th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, one of the awards season's premier events, will honor outstanding performances from 2013 in five film categories and eight television categories, including the distinctive ensemble awards. This year's Actor recipients will be announced at the Los Angeles Shrine Exposition Center during a live simulcast on TNT and TBS on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014.

The 13th Annual Helpmann Awards ceremony will feature some of Australia's most talented and celebrated performers. On Wednesday, July 10, 2013 President Obama will award the 2012 National Medal of Arts and National Humanities Medal in the East Room. The First Lady will also attend. Among this year's honorees for the 2012 National Medal of Arts are opera star Renee Fleming, screenwriter and playwright Tony Kushner and director and producer George Lucas. The National High School Musical Theater Awards (NHSMTA) previously announced that 62 finalists selected from tens of thousands of students will compete for the coveted Jimmy Award for Best Performance by an Actor and Best Performance by an Actress, scholarships and other honors at an event on Broadway to be hosted by the Tony Award-nominated stars of Rodgers + Hammerstein's CINDERELLA, Laura Osnes (Cinderella) and Santino Fontana (the Prince). The fifth annual performance showcase featuring dynamic ensemble and solo performances exclusively from the musical theater cannon will take place tonight, July 1, 2013 at 7:30pm at the Minskoff Theatre (200 W. 45th St).
