Ratings for 68th Annual TONY AWARDS Hold Steady from Last Year

CBS' live broadcast of the 68th annual Tony Awards attracted 7 million total viewers and a 1.2 rating on Sunday night, June 8th. While down slightly in total viewers from last year's awards which delivered 7.3 million viewers, the show held steady in the demo according to TV Line. The Hugh Jackman-hosted event marks the show's second largest audience in the last five years.

This year marked the 68th anniversary of the TONY Awards, presented by Tony Award Productions, which is a joint venture of The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing, which founded the Tonys. Nominations for the 2014 Tony Awards were announced live on Tuesday, April 29 from New York City.

Golden Globe and Tony Award-winning actor Hugh Jackman returned as host of the live broadcast from Radio City Music Hall in New York City. The event marked Jackman's fourth time hosting the Tonys.
