Paper Mill Playhouse hosted the 18th Annual Rising Star Awards - Presented by the Investors Foundation -tonight, June 4th at the Millburn Theater. Schools nominated for Outstanding Overall Production and Leading Actor/Actress nominees performed at the event and award recipients were presented with a crystal award from Tiffany & Co. Summit High School came out on top, winning Outstanding Overall Production of a Musical. A total of 31 awards were presented along with five scholarships and other cash prizes. The 31st Annual Fred & Adele Astaire Awards took place last night, June 3 at the Skirball Center for the Performing Arts at New York University (566 LaGuardia Place). Winners included: Charlotte d'Amboise- PIPPIN (Outstanding Female Dancer in a Broadway Show), Eric Lajuan Summers- MOTOWN (Outstanding Male Dancer in a Broadway Show), Chet Walker- PIPPIN (Outstanding Choreographer of a Broadway Show), and Sidi Larbi Cherkaouit- Anna Karenina (Outstanding Choreographer in a Feature Film).
