Jerry Springer will host The Price is Right Live! on Nov. 17, 2013 at 7pm. The Price Is Right Live! is the hit interactive stage show that gives contestants pulled right from the audience the chance to 'Come On Down' to win appliances, vacations and even new cars by playing classic games from television's longest running and most popular game show. From Plinko to Cliffhangers to the Big Wheel, and even the fabulous Showcase, all the favorite games are played just like the TV show.
American Stage Announces 2014 Improvisation Training Program

For the first time in the Tampa Bay Area, American Stage is pleased to offer this unique program specializing in the art of long form improvisation training and performance. This program, divided into four sections, will guide participants through the foundations of improvisation as a performance medium and eventually place them in teams that will have the opportunity to perform in our Sunday Comedy Series**. All classes are taught by improvisation professionals. Our instructors have trained and worked with such groups as Second City and The Groundlings.

Asolo Repertory Theatre's Endowment Matching Challenge Grant Off to Strong Start

Asolo Repertory Theatre announced yesterday that two anonymous donors have put forth a matching challenge for Asolo Rep's Endowment in partnership with Gulf Coast Community Foundation. The Challenge is the next major component of Asolo Rep's Campaign for Excellence. The mission of the Campaign is to secure debt-free facilities and equipment essential to Asolo Rep's mission, and to build and strengthen the theatre's endowment. The priority of the Campaign over the last three to four years has been capital projects. With the onset of the Matching Challenge, the focus has been shifted to building Asolo Rep's endowment in order to protect these investments and expand the theatre's artistic and educational possibilities.

Keep your eyes peeled next week for the release of the exciting 45 minute documentary on the rehearsal process for freeFall's FIDDLER ON THE ROOF. This exciting collaboration with award winning documentarian Leigh Simons will take you behind the scenes into the rehearsals to give you an unprecedented look at what it takes to bring you freeFall's season. The film will be released as three 15-minute episodes that will be viewed online. Watch all three and you will be able to enter a contest to win a VIP Holiday Party for 10 at the theatre during our run of A Christmas Carol. Van Wezel to Launch New CLASSROOM CONNECTIONS Program

The Van Wezel will be piloting a new program titled Classroom Connections, this season. The objective is to bring students from different schools together in a way that would not normally be presented to them. Through a grant from the Lakewood Ranch Rotary Club, 3rd grade students from Samoset Elementary and Robert E. Willis Elementary will be able to take part in the program. Though the schools are both in Manatee County, they have little to no interaction with each other.

Asolo Repertory Theatre will open its 2013-2014 season with SHOW BOAT, based on the novel by Edna Ferber, music by Jerome Kern and book and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II. This winner of the 1994 Tony Award for best revival features a score of timeless classics, including 'Ol' Man River, 'Can't Help Lovin' Dat Man' and 'Make Believe.' Previews will be held November 12 - 14 and the show will run from November 15 - December 29. Opening night will be held on Friday, November 15 at 8pm.

Florida Studio Theatre's Education Department Offering Youth Education Classes

Florida Studio Theatre's Education Department is offering a free introductory class for students ages 7-12. The class will take place on Saturday, November 2 from 12:30pm - 1:30pm in FST's rehearsal studios in downtown Sarasota. Space is limited and reservations are required.
