Guys and Dolls will play January 16 through February 23, 2014, at the Show Palace Dinner Theatre.

Set in Damon Runyon's mythical New York City, this oddball romantic comedy - considered by many to be the perfect musical comedy - soars with the spirit of Broadway as it introduces us to a cast of vivid characters who have become legends in the canon: Sarah Brown, the upright but uptight "mission doll," out to reform the evildoers of Time Square; Sky Masterson, the slick, high-rolling gambler who woos her on a bet and ends up falling in love; Adelaide, the chronically ill nightclub performer whose condition is brought on by the fact she's been engaged to the same man for 14 years; and Nathan Detroit, her devoted fiancée, desperate as always to find a spot for his infamous floating crap game. Everything works out in the end, thanks to the machinations of Abe Burrows and Jo Swerling's hilarious, fast-paced book and Frank Loesser's bright, brassy, immortal score, which takes us from the heart of Times Square to the cafes of Havana, Cuba, and even into the sewers of New York City.

Directed by Steven Flaa. Steven is very happy to return to the Show Palace to direct his twelfth show here. Previous shows he has directed here include FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, SOME LIKE IT HOT, CAROUSEL, MID-LIFE! THE CRISIS MUSICAL, GUYS & DOLLS (in 2001) and all three--soon to be four--productions of FOREVER PLAID. Other directorial credits include MAN OF LA MANCHA at Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre, THE KING & I at Venice Theatre, THE 25th ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE at Ozark Actors Theatre and LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, ALTAR BOYZ, THE BIG BANG and, most recently, A MARVELOUS PARTY at American Stage.

Choreographed by Andi Sperduti-Garner. Andi has choreographed for Theatre By The Sea in Rhode Island and Peach State Summer Theatre in Georgia. Her favorite Show Palace choreography credits include: Cabaret, Victor/Victoria, Kiss me Kate, The Full Monty, Sugar Babies, Sentimental Journey, Jackpot, Oklahoma, and Swing! Special thank you to the Mara family and the entire staff cast and crew! Enjoy the show and thank you for supporting The Show Palace.

Musically Directed by Phyllis Gessler. Phyllis is pleased to return to the Show Palace Theatre. She has had exciting music directing experiences all over the U.S. with Peter Pan, Shenandoah, Me and My Girl and Sweet Charity, among others. Also, she has been lucky enough to travel with The Sound of Music (with a command performance for the King and Queen of Malaysia), South Pacific, You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, and an original Singaporean show, Bugis Street, to Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Phyllis also has years of regional theatre, including Walnut Street Theatre, the oldest continuously running theatre in the states, and dinner theatre shows under her belt. But most of the time now, she is happy to stay home with Cali and Billy and work for Pinellas County Center for the Arts as a private voice teacher and music director.
