The Midnight Company will follow its 2022 25th Anniversary Season with a lineup of five shows, including two world premiere cabaret/theatre productions. The season will open with one of these cabaret/theatre shows, JUST ONE LOOK, starring Kelly Howe as Linda Ronstadt, running Wednesdays March 1, 8 and 15 at The Blue Strawberry. Ronstadt ruled the pop charts and filled stadiums in the 70’s and 80’s, and was the reigning Rock Goddess of the era. Her awareness of and work for social justice evolved due to her relationship with California Governor Jerry Brown, then running for President, as her music evolved into new genres like Gilbert And Sullivan on Broadway and The Great American Songbook with Nelson Riddle. But for Linda, it was always a search for the next great song. Kelly Howe will portray Linda and sing her sensational songs. In St. Louis, Howe has been seen in The Who’s TOMMY (Stray Dog), THE APHRA BEHN FESTIVAL (SATE), SWEAT (The Black Rep) and RODNEY’S WIFE (Midnight). Joe Hanrahan, Midnight’s Artistic Director, will write and direct the show and will appear as a veteran Rock journalist who finally gets to interview his unrequited love, Linda Ronstadt. Miranda Jagels Felix will Assistant Direct. She directed Kelly Howe for THE APHRA BEHN FESTIVAL (SATE), assistant directed and performed for THE GOOD SHIP ST. LOUIS (Upstream), performed in HAG-SEED (Prison Performing Arts) and will assistant direct UNCLE VANYA (The Actors Studio) in February. Previews: Midnight Company Celebrates the Third Anniversary of their Runaway Hit JUST ONE LOOK
February 22, 2026 When Kelly Howe and Joe Hanrahan take the stage at Blue Strawberry on Friday, March 13, 2026, the pair will be celebrating a special anniversary. Their long running hit Just One Look premiered 3-years ago on the exact same stage. Just One Look is the first, and most successful, of Midnight Company’s scripted cabaret shows. The show blends cabaret performing with storytelling. It’s not exactly a club act or a Broadway musical, but a nostalgic look at one of the most successful female rock artists of all time. When Hanrahan and Howe, announced this collaboration in early 2023, Broadway World called the show featuring Linda Ronstadt’s songbook “the most anticipated theatrical event of the new season.” It’s clear from the show’s success that Ronstadt’s chart-topping music is still as popular today as it was a half-century ago.

January 19, 2024 Eileen Engel will be starring in two new narrative driven cabaret shows, MOVIE MUSIC and JACEY'S JAZZ JOINT, written and directed by Joe Hanrahan. The productions, produced by Midnight Company, will play Blue Strawberry Showroom and Lounge in Midtown St. Louis. Fly North Theatricals Colin Healy and Bradley Rohlf will collaborate with Healy as music director for both productions and Rohlf will play drums for JACEY'S JAZZ JOINT.

December 14, 2023 This past year was a spectacular season for theatre in St. Louis. Forbes magazine recognized St. Louis as having “America’s most exciting emerging arts district.” The article credits the The Kranzberg Foundation for buying and operating spaces where artists can create. Many of the smaller theatre companies in St. Louis rely on The Kranzberg Foundation venues for performance and rehearsal space. In addition to the smaller professional companies, the mid-size and larger companies including The Muny, STAGES St. Louis, and The Black Rep all presented stellar musicals and plays that were produced locally. JUST ONE LOOK, The Linda Ronstadt Cabaret Show, Moves to City Winery St. Louis on November 22nd
November 15, 2023 In January of 2023, Broadway World called JUST ONE LOOK, the theatrical cabaret show based on the music of Linda Ronstadt, the most anticipated theatrical event of the year. Just prior to the show opening, Linda Ronstadt's hit song “Long Long Time” was featured in an episode of MAX’s (formerly HBO) “This is Us,” and began screaming up the download charts. Interest in Ronstadt’s music was at a new high since her singing career had been cut short by illness. Now, following 12 sold-out performances at Blue Strawberry, JUST ONE LOOK will move to a much larger venue, City Winery St. Louis, to accommodate the demand for tickets. City Winery St. Louis will present JUST ONE LOOK on Wednesday, November 22nd at 7:30 pm.
