It’s 924 in Joseon, in front of an ancient castle entrance in a city near Seoul.
The merry beats of Korean traditional percussion quartet heard from the other side of the castle spreads into the autumn sky.
A travelling troupe with colorful traditional clothes and sangmo hat on their heads gather up. Just then, a man with a stolen sack is being chased by Yanakihara Naoki (Kusanagi Tsuyoshi). Soon-woo catches the man, but he ends up dropping the sack and shattering the white porcelain vase that Naoki treasures for his life. Rather than thanking him, Naoki scorns Soon-woo for the broken porcelain. But instead of being angry at Naoki, Soon-woo becomes fascinated by Naoki’s character.
