Production photos have been released for Martyna Majok’s critically acclaimed play Ironbound at the Broadwater Second Stage, running for three performances through today, July 16th at 2:30pm. Directed by Susan Leslie, the cast features (in alphabetical order) Matt Bushell, Shea Depmore, Isaiah Frazilus, and Daniel Shawn Miller. Net proceeds will benefit WomenShelter of Long Beach. Moon Dog Theatre's production of John Logan's 'Red' in Rockford, Illinois, is the latest collaboration between actors David Weber and Nick Barelli. The two first met in Chicago in 2013 when Barelli was an undergraduate at the University of Illinois (UIC), and David was a recent graduate.
Just when you thought Monday nights couldn't get any better, Barrel of Monkeys is partnering with some of Chicago's best performing arts companies and artists for the second iteration of CHICAGO'S WEIRD, GRANDMA, directed by Artistic Director Molly Brennan, playing Mondays at 8 pm from October 28 - December 2, 2013 at the Neo-Futurist Theater, 5153 N. Ashland Ave. in Chicago. Each guest artist or company will bring their unique talents to transform stories written by Chicago Public School students into entertaining sketches incorporating puppetry, sketch comedy, clowning, music, dance and other disciplines. Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) launches today its 2013 citywide tour of Chicago Park District neighborhood parks at Eckhart Park (1330 West Chicago Avenue), following two preview performances at Navy Pier's Gateway Park. The Comedy of Errors, this summer's Chicago Shakespeare in the Parks production, is touring FREE FOR ALL to neighborhood parks across Chicago, now through August 25, 2013. Chicago Shakespeare Theater, the City of Chicago, Chicago Park District and leaders of Chicago's corporate community have partnered to expand the Chicago Shakespeare in the Parks program, after its inaugural success in 2012. This summer, Chicagoans will have direct access to their City's cultural resources with a choice of 26 free Shakespeare performances presented in 18 different neighborhood parks.

Performances begin in just five weeks for the third annual Next Up, continuing Steppenwolf Theatre Company's commitment to Chicago's next generation of theater artists. Next Up features three productions presented in rotating repertory, in collaboration with Northwestern University's MFA programs in Direction and Design. Vinnie Lacey, executive director of the Chicago Fringe Festival has announced the 2013 design contest winner is Alex Kostiw of Chicago. The design will appear on all marketing and promotional materials for the 2013 Chicago Fringe Festival, August 29 - September 8. The fourth annual Chicago Fringe Festival takes place at various locations throughout Jefferson Park, a new neighborhood location in Fringe's history. The Fringe also recently held their lottery for theatre companies and individuals to be included in the 2013 Festival, a complete schedule of performances and locations will be announced in July.
