Seattle Repertory Theatre today announced the full ensemble cast of Two Trains Running, August Wilson's slice-of-life portrait of a defining moment in American history.

JAG Productions will present August Wilson's Fences later this month at the Woodstock Town Hall Theatre in Woodstock, Vermont.  Previews begin April 27, 2017 and performances run through May 7, 2017.

JAG Productions has announced the full casting for their upcoming production of August Wilson's Pulitzer-Prize winning play Fences at Woodstock Town Hall Theatre in Woodstock, VT. Fences, directed by Jarvis Antonio Green (JAG Productions: Choir Boy), will run from April 27 through May 7.

From the Broadway stage to the Pulitzer Prize, back to Broadway, and now as a film adaptation with four Oscar nominations, FENCES has riveted audiences for more than 30 years. The film, directed by and starring Denzel Washington, is nominated for Best Picture, with Washington and Viola Davis nominated for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress. The fourth nomination is for the drama's original playwright August Wilson for Best Adapted Screenplay. Wilson died in 2005. Wilson left behind an indelible legacy of dramatic work, having penned the ambitious American Century Cycle of ten plays focusing on the African-American experience in the 20th century.

Center Theatre Group's Community Conversations for August Wilson's 'Ma Rainey's Black Bottom' will feature two pre-show panel discussions on September 21 and 30 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at The Music Center Annex building, 601 W. Temple Street, in rehearsal room 'A.'

California Shakespeare Theater's 25th anniversary season at the Bruns Amphitheater continues with August Wilson's Pulitzer Prize-winning story of the American Dream deferred, Fences, directed by Raelle Myrick-Hodges in her Cal Shakes debut. Fences, which plays from July 6 through July 31, marks the first time Cal Shakes has presented August Wilson's work on its stage. YALE REPERTORY THEATRE announces its 50th Anniversary Season, which will include three world premieres commissioned by Yale Rep and two contemporary masterpieces.

The Huntington Theatre Company will present the powerful memoir August Wilson's How I Learned What I Learned, co-conceived and directed by Todd Kreidler (Guess Who's Coming to Dinner adapter at the Huntington) and featuring Eugene Lee (Radio Golf, Gem of the Ocean, and The Piano Lesson at the Huntington), both longtime Wilson collaborators. Performances begin Saturday, March 5 and continue through April 3, 2016 in the BU Theatre / Avenue of the Arts.

Powerful plays and playwrights dominate the Center Theatre Group's 49th season at the Mark Taper Forum. From a field of 12 local high school students, Shaila Essley, Philip Patrick Bucknor and Wayne R. Mackins-Harris have been selected to represent Los Angeles in the August Wilson Monologue Competition (AWMC) national finals. Contestants this year featured high school students from four Southern California cities, who performed in the regional finals at the Center Theatre Group/Mark Taper Forum, Monday night, March 2, 2015. Goodman Theatre, in collaboration with Chicago's various off-Loop theaters and Northwestern University, unveils partial programming in its spring 2015 citywide "August Wilson Celebration" -- an extensive retrospective of the late playwright's life, artistry and influence on American culture. The seven-week Celebration takes place in March and April 2015 on dual landmark occasions: the 70th anniversary of the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright's birth and the 10th anniversary of his death.

Contestants this year featured high school students from nine Southern California cities, who performed in the regional finals at the Center Theatre Group/Mark Taper Forum, Tuesday night, March 11, 2014. The top three student performers received scholarships and the opportunity to perform again in New York City. The August Wilson Monologue Competition is presented by the Center Theatre Group Affiliates, a volunteer organization that supports Center Theatre Group's education and community partnerships programs.

Center Theatre Group has announced that 12 students have been selected to participate in the August Wilson Monologue Competition Los Angeles regional finals to be held at the CTG/Mark Taper Forum today, March 11, 2014. L.A.'s AWMC, part of a larger national program, is hosted by Center Theatre Group and presented by the Center Theatre Group Affiliates.
