Nikki Davis-Jones Withdraws from WICKED in West End and UK Tour

WICKED, the global musical phenomenon that tells the incredible untold story of the Witches of Oz, announced earlier this summer that Ashleigh Gray would join the record-breaking UK Tour from Tuesday September 16, 2014 as Elphaba, as current cast member Nikki Davis-Jones was secheduled to join the London production from Monday October 27, 2014. Now according to the show's official Twitter feed, Davis-Jones has withdrawn form both productions.

WICKED, the global musical phenomenon that tells the incredible untold story of the Witches of Oz, just announced that Ashleigh Gray (Elphaba), Emily Tierney (Glinda), Samuel Edwards (Fiyero), Marilyn Cutts (Madame Morrible), Steven Pinder (The Wizardand Doctor Dillamond), Carina Gillespie (Nessarose), Richard Vincent (Boq), Jacqueline Hughes (Standby Elphaba), Joe Atkinson, Joshua Berg, Chrissy Brooke, Ben Carruthers, Harrison Clark, Lauren Ellis-Steele, Oliver Evans, Victoria Farley, Natasha Ferguson, Zoe George, Natalie Green, Will Knights, Sophie Leigh-Griffin, Candy Marriot, Tom Mather, Brian McCann, Ashley Morgan-Davies, Stephanie Powell, Wendy-Lee Purdy, Elisha Sherman, Grant Thresh, Hannah Veerapen and Danny Whitehead will star in the record-breaking UK Tour from Tuesday 16 September 2014 at Liverpool Empire Theatre.

WICKED, the award-winning musical that tells the incredible untold story of the Witches of Oz, welcomed its 6 millionth theatregoer to London's Apollo Victoria Theatre last night, Thursday 24 July. Owen Thomas attended the performance with Stephanie Willingham, both from Bury St. Edmonds, and enjoyed a backstage visit with the cast after the show.

WICKED, the award-winning musical that tells the incredible untold story of the Witches of Oz, is proud to welcome back the original British Elphaba, Kerry Ellis, who will recreate her celebrated performance from Monday 4 August until Saturday 25 October 2014*. Willemijn Verkaik will play her final performance as Elphaba this Saturday (19 July 2014 at 7.30pm**). She departs the production in order to have surgery to address an ongoing back condition.

Currently in its 8th year at London's Apollo Victoria Theatre, this "wickedly good" (Sunday Express) original new musical has now been seen by over 5.5 million people since its London premiere in September 2006 and played over 3000 performances.
