Cameron Mackintosh and The Really Useful Group have announced a week of festivities for when the longest-running show in Broadway history, Andrew Lloyd Webber's THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, directed by Harold Prince, which celebrates its 30th Anniversary next week. This unprecedented milestone is a feat achieved by no other Broadway show.

Today, January 16, marks the beginning of Peter J back's return engagement with The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway. He will play a limited run through March 31. J back will be playing the title role when the show reaches its 30th anniversary on January 26. As previously announced, the anniversary will be celebrated two days prior on January 24.

I'm not going to lie...until this week, I'd never seen a live production of The Phantom of the Opera. I'm intimately familiar with the music and the story, but it was just never an experience I thought I needed to have.
