CATS: The Jellicle Ball 2026

Randy Weiner, who is the producer of Andrew Lloyd Webber's immersive Masquerade Off-Broadway, would like to take over Cats: The Jellicle Ball, which recently announced its closing on Broadway. 

Ahead of its closing, Cats: The Jellicle Ball filmed a recent performance by the Theatre on Film and Tape Archive at The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts. Lin-Manuel Miranda and Gaten Matarazzo served as the guest judges.

Andrew Lloyd Webber has addressed the closing announcement of CATS: The Jellicle Ball, pleading for 'theatre owners, unions and producers to come together urgently to address what is a crisis coming to a head.'

The performance of CATS: the Jellicle Ball on Monday, July 13th, at 7pm has been cancelled by the production due to company illness.

The ball is over. BroadwayWorld has just learned that Cats: The Jellicle Ball, the Tony Award-winning musical revival, will end its Broadway run at the Broadhurst Theatre on Saturday evening, August 8. Later this month, the production will be filmed by the Theatre on Film and Tape Archive (TOFT) at The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts and added to its collection.
