Now through November 21, Musical Theater Heritage offers a super production of “Company,” Stephen Sondheim’s breakthrough 1970 musical. “Company” marks the first appearance of the indelible Sondheim musical voice we have heard so often since.

A lot is written about the effect of an absent father on sons. The phrase 'A boy needs his father' is often bandied about in conversation but not really heard concerning daughters. Scores of scholarly papers about this have been written with experiments and scientific data that reinforce the importance of a father in their daughter's life. Sunset Baby by Dominique Morisseau explores that very theme in this production by the Black Theatre Troupe (BTT).

After nineteen long months, The Paramount Theater welcomed the cast and crew of JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR to its stage, and the Seattle audience welcomed them into their hearts. The mood was heightened and the air electric as patrons entered the theater after showing their vaccination documentation. Although masked, the smiles sparkled in the eyes as the crowd gathered in anticipation of sharing a journey of storytelling and music. From the first note to the last, the audience was held in rapt attention as we all remembered the unmatched joy of watching live theater.

Northern Stage's season continues this fall with a site-specific, dramatic walking experience of White River Junction, VT. Junction, running now through October 24, consists of three original audio stories from three era-defining years: from the filming of director D.W Griffith's iconic Way Down East in 1920 to the cultural and economic dislocations of the 1970s to the unexpected challenges of 2020, the strangest year of all.

Chelsea Table + Stage is a beautiful and unique, state-of-the-art restaurant and performance space with a staff that was fantastic and efficient. We were treated like old friends from the moment we came in the door.

The Odyssey Theatre Ensemble re-opens its re-envisioning of the Odyssey's 1969 West Coast premiere of The Serpent, the Obie award-winning play by Jean-Claude van Itallie. The production initially opened in March, 2020 as part of the Odyssey's 50th Anniversary “Circa '69” Season, but was shuttered five days later by the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Even as the Gay rights movement was starting to put LGBT folks into the spotlight, their very existence was threatened by an insidious plague that seemed to target only them (mostly gay men), AIDS and HIV. A plague that was largely unmentioned by the country's administration. But they still found moments of exuberance and freedom within the Disco clubs. And this is what “amber”, an installation from Washington Ensemble Theatre aims to explore.
