The new musical Goddess can currently be seen in its New York premiere production at the Public Theater on Lafayette Street. Directed by the Public’s associate artistic director and resident director Saheem Ali, who is currently Tony Award-nominated for directing Buena Vista Social Club, Goddess is playing at the Public’s largest space by capacity, the Newman Theatre.

The first production of Pierre Carlet de Chamblain de Marivaux’s “The Triumph of Love” – performed in Paris in 1732 – was no box-office bonanza. Indeed, it closed after just six performances, with audiences apparently finding distasteful the story of a princess seducing not only a young man but an older man and an older woman as well.

The Group Rep will present the West Coast Premiere of the musical, Drat! The Cat! featuring a book and lyrics by Ira Levin (Rosemary's Baby, The Boys from Brazil, The Stepford Wives, Deathtrap), and music by Milton Schafer.

Park Theatre has unveiled a line up of theatre and comedy in its Summer and Autumn seasons, including shows set in Ireland, Japan and Italy, Edinburgh Festival Fringe hits, shows exploring the lives of artists and opera composers, and comedians performing their final previews in July before hitting the Fringe in August.
