The Nottingham Playhouse production of Michael Morpurgo's award-winning novel, Private Peaceful, adapted for the stage by Simon Reade and directed by Elle While, today announces it will embark on a major UK tour following its Nottingham premiere.

Playwright and novelist Michael Frayn was today awarded  the Critics Circle Award for Services to the Arts, the Critics Circle’s highest honour. Every year since 1988, the Critics’ Circle has voted for a single leading artist to receive an engraved crystal rose bowl in recognition of their distinguished contribution to the arts.

Los Angeles-based CONTRA-TIEMPO will perform on the Henry J. Leir Stage during the second week of Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, fusing Salsa, Afro-Cuban, hip-hop, and contemporary dance into a theatrical performance titled joyUS justUS, from July 7-11.

The American Dance Festival will present Tatiana Baganova's livestream event Bluebeard on June 27 at 1:00pm Eastern Time, 10:00am Pacific Time, and 10:00pm in Yekaterinburg, Russia. Palm Beach Dramaworks has modified its previously announced schedule and also selected the second of its two world premieres. Bruce Graham’s The Duration, which received an online reading in March as part of The Dramaworkshop’s Drama(in the)works series, was so well received that it’s moving on to a full, mainstage production.

Palm Beach Dramaworks has announced that it will be reopening its doors for the 2021-2022 season with a full slate of five plays at the Don & Ann Brown Theatre. Opening night is set for Friday, October 15, and new health and safety protocols will be in place.

BroadwayWorld is saddened to report that stage and screen star George Segal passed away yesterday following complications during surgery. He was 87 years old.

After his studio concert Mark Seibert decided to do a live streaming concert at the Ebertbad (Oberhausen) on Valentine’s Day, which was produced by SOUND OF MUSIC and for which he invited Marle Martens and Thomas Holer. Both guests have been working with Mark Seibert in many shows. This is why they were putting the highlights of ELISABETH, DANCE OF THE VAPMIRES and MOZART together in medleys. Although none of these shows  have made it across the pond so far (DANCE OF THE VAMPIRES failed in 2003 due to different reasons), all songs enjoy great popularity in Germany and Austria.
