he Joyce Theater Foundation announced today the full lineup of U.S. and international talent that will grace The Joyce’s storied stage for its Spring/Summer 2022 season. Nearly two dozen companies and dance creators will bring their unparalleled creativity and astounding artistic innovation to the iconic, intimate home for dance in New York City.

Pulp fiction got its name from the low-quality, pulpy paper the stories were printed on, not the content. However, 'pulp' became synonymous with trashy, back alley reading punctuated with cheap sensationalist thrills, fast-paced plot lines and bad writing. Tell that last bit to John Lange (aka Michael Crichton), Isaac Asimov, Ray Bradbury, and Dashiell Hammett (The Thin Man, and Sam Spade) who have all had off-shoot careers in pulp.

The Maui Arts & Cultural Center will welcome legendary Motown singer/songwriter and producer Smokey Robinson for his first ever concert on Maui on Friday, January 28 under the stars in the MACC's A&B Amphitheater and Yokouchi Pavilion.

Impossible Daze was recorded in November of 2020 in just seven days in Rock Island, IL at Future Apple Tree Studio by Daytrotter Studios founding member Patrick Stolley. The band went into the Impossible Daze sessions with the intentions of exploring genres of music they are individually inspired by including jazz, folk, psychedelic rock, and more.

Desert Theatreworks' production of Ron Clark's and Sam Bobrick's farce, MURDER AT THE HOWARD JOHNSON'S, is funny and imaginatively staged, and improves upon the source material. It will run Thursdays through Sundays, through November 21st

It's a joyful experience at the theatre when I can sit at Jeschke Fine Arts at University of Sioux Falls, surrounded by so many students in attendance to support classmates on opening night of The Addams Family, A New Musical Comedy. Director Joe Obermueller very adeptly, and with great humor, brings a young group of performers to their own individual personal bests and then molds a team of artists who brought passion and whimsy to iconic caricatures that became the characters of this show with delightful layers. It is clear he has empowered every performer, from the girl with the contortionist poses in the ancestral family chorus, to principal and supporting cast members to bring their 'A+ Game' to the stage.
