What did our critic think of REEFER MADNESS THE MUSICAL at Lush Lounge & Theater?

OpenStage will present Reefer Madness, with book by Kevin Murphy & Dan Studney, music by Dan Studney, and lyrics by Kevin Murphy. Reefer Madness is set to delight audiences at The Lincoln Center Magnolia Theatre from November 2 to November 30, 2024.

Pinate has done an exceptional job creating a fantasy world built on darkly charming whimsy and wonder. I was often reminded of ALICE IN WONDERLAND while watching ALEBRIJES. Pinate fills the stage with fantastical imagery, much of it lit under jaw-droppingly beautiful blacklight.

Reefer Madness will be added to the 102nd season lineup at Theatre Tulsa. Performances run November 8-10.

Theatre Tulsa will present the high-flying musical comedy Reefer Madness as an add-on to its 102nd season. Inspired by the 1936 film of the same name, this satirical musical offers a tongue-in-cheek look at the hysteria surrounding marijuana in the 1930s, following clean-cut kids as they fall into a downward spiral filled with jazz music, sex, and violence.

The Performance, a gripping drama inspired by Arthur Miller's acclaimed short story first published in The New Yorker, will be coming to select U.S. theaters in late December 2024.
