Pulitzer Prize-nominated playwright Rebecca Gilman will mark her 10th production at Goodman Theatre, her longtime creative home, with Swing State—directed by Tony Award-winner Robert Falls in their 6th collaboration over 35 years. Swing State appears October 7 – November 13 in the 350-seat flexible Owen Theatre.

Transport Group in partnership with National Asian American Theatre Company (NAATCO) has announced that Edward Albee's A Delicate Balance, directed by Transport Group Artistic Director Jack Cummings III, will begin performances Saturday, October 22 at the Connelly Theater, 220 East 4 Street. Ensemble Member Robin Witt returns to Steep this summer to direct Simon Stephens' Light Falls. Stephens, who won the Tony and Olivier Awards for his The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, is Steep's Associate Playwright, and this will be the sixth of his plays to be produced by the Edgewater ensemble. Light Falls premiered at the Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester in October of 2019, and Steep's production will be the play's U.S. premiere. Robin Witt is a longtime director and Company Member at Steep. Her work includes last summer's Pomona and recent hits Linda and Lela & Co., which won 2018 Jeff Awards for Director, Production, and Performer in a Principal Role.

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Zoe Caldwell, four-time Tony Award-winning Broadway actress, died peacefully at the age of 86 at her home in Pound Ridge, New York, on Sunday, February 16, 2020.
