Ten-minute play festivals are often populated by material that cannot be strictly classified as plays. But the academic distinction between sketch and fully formed play may reasonably give way to a simpler, more binary metric: it either works or it doesn't. Some of the finest writing in this sixth year of shorts produced by The Bard's Town feels as if they are either lifted from a longer piece or are the seeds of a larger story.

It is my not-very-humble opinion that Mo Willems' Elephant and Piggie series ranks among the best early reader books available. The pachyderm-and-porcine duo gallivant through a series of adventures in the same spirit Dr. Seuss first embraced when he started writing about felines and their headgear: all readers, regardless of age or ability level, deserve to be entertained. Elephant and Piggie's 'We Are in a Play!', the Fine Arts Center's current second stage production, takes that commitment to entertainment and runs with it in sixty minutes of lighthearted silliness, parties, dancing, unexpected drama, and good times with best friends.

My Fair Lady, playing at the Orpheum Theatre through March 8th, is a gorgeous revival that will thrill fans of the classic movie as well as theater purists. Orange County was once again gifted a compact, intermission-free version of Broadway superstar Kristin Chenoweth's 'Coming Home' concert on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Costa Mesa's Segerstrom Center for the Arts (she performed a version of this concert last year at the Walt Disney Concert Hall). As expected, the spunky and sassy Tony Award Winner---joined on stage by musical director/accompanist Mary-Mitchell Campbell and an excellent four-piece jazz ensemble---wowed the adoring crowd throughout the show with her Southern-fried tales of growing up as a Christian daddy's girl in Oklahoma, who would later rise to meteoric marquee heights on the Broadway stage thanks to her incredible set of vocal pipes and unmissable acting chops. Along the way, she sings a wonderful mix of hilarious ditties, familiar showtunes, and some emotionally-stirring ballads that prove why she's a stunningly good performer.

When deep thoughts of sadness or depression hit, it's vital to remember that you are not alone. All things considered, in any case, don't compare your experiences with that of another. Everyone is different. However, a few tips can go a long way. I follow these most of the time to deal with my emotions of negativity.

There was a time when the movie was considered the epitome of pop culture entertainment. At the cinema you could find comedy, action, romance, intriguing characters, and the most creative minds in America. While there is still all of the above in movies today, television is quickly stealing the popular artistic prestige that movies has enjoyed since snatching it from the musical theatre six decades ago.
