Sydney Theatre Company announced last night that Nakkiah Lui is the 2018 STC Patrick White Playwrights Fellow. It was also announced that this year's Patrick White Playwrights Award recipient is Mark Rogers for his play Superheroes, which was presented as a rehearsed reading to a sell-out audience at the Richard Wherett Studio in the Roslyn Packer Theatre.

The 29th annual Inside Out Toronto LGBT Film Festival (Inside Out), championing innovative LGBTQ filmmakers from across the globe, revealed its full feature and short film lineup. The announcement was made today by Inside Out's Executive Director Andria Wilson and the festival's Director of Programming Andrew Murphy. Inside Out, which launched the first ever annual LGBTQ Film Finance Forum, has established itself as an international home and incubator for LGBTQ emerging and established filmmakers. This year's festival will take place May 23 to June 2, 2019.

Night of the Living Dead Live has announced that it will extend to 8 June, playing a total of nine weeks at Pleasance, London, with opening night for press on 16 April. The first ever UK stage adaptation and the only officially authorised production based on George A. Romero's cult zombie classic is directed by Benji Sperring (The Toxic Avenger: The Musical; Shock Treatment, Valley Of Song) and produced by Katy Lipson for Aria Entertainment and Ollie Rosenblatt for Senbla. Great success of the theatrical season in Rio de Janeiro, the musical 'O Frenetico Dancin'Days' finally arrives in Sao Paulo. The show rescues the mythical aura around the Frenetic Dancing'Days Discotheque, which was a milestone in the Brazilian night, especially the carioca, with only four months of operation, establishing fashion, behavior and celebrating freedom, when the country was in full military dictatorship.

The Ford Theatres today announced the 2019 season of events at the John Anson Ford Theatres. The 2019 season will open on Saturday, April 27 with The Spring Quartet: Jack DeJohnette, Joe Lovano, Esperanza Spalding and Leo Genovese, who The Arts Desk described as "an expansive, freewheeling rampage, ideas flying out like sparks from a roaring fire," and will conclude on October 19 and 20 with a Dia de los Muertos Concert and Community Celebration.
