On the panel joining Meya for the announcement were the President of the Board of Directors Susan G. Alex Brightman stopped by Late Night with Seth Meyers last night to talk about Beetlejuice the Musical. During the interview, he talks about his special relationship with New York City's Winter Garden Theatre, taking on the mantle of Beetlejuice and his cameo in Documentary Now!

It's showtime on NBC as the network turns into the National Beetlejuice Company to celebrate Broadway's new irreverent musical comedy.

Beetlejuice, the new Broadway musical comedy, will record a cast album to be released later this year. The show officially opened at Broadway's Winter Garden Theatre (1634 Broadway) on Thursday, April 25. The album - produced by Matt Stine, Alex Timbers, Eddie Perfect, and Kurt Deutsch - will be recorded May 5, 6 and 13.

Presented by Author Services, Inc. and Galaxy Press, the theme for the two-hour awards show was Retro Robotics.

Ardent Theatre Company today announces the full cast for the first revival of Philip Osment's This Island's Mine. Philip Wilson directs Connor Bannister (Luke), Jane Bertish (Miss Rosenblum/Vladimir), Theo Fraser Steele (Martin/Stephen/Prospero), Corey Montague-Sholay (Selwyn/Dave), Tom Ross-Williams (Mark/The Director/Frank), Rachel Summers (Jody/Mme Irina/Debbie/Wayne), and Rebecca Todd (Marianne/Maggie/Miranda). This Island's Mine opens at the King's Head Theatre on 17 May, with previews from 15 May, until 8 June.

The Jewish Museum will present Leonard Cohen: A Crack in Everything, a contemporary art exhibition devoted to the imagination and legacy of the influential singer/songwriter, man of letters, and global icon from Montreal, Canada. On March 22nd, Strand of Oaks (Timothy Showalter) will return with his 6th album, Eraserland to be released via label Dead Oceans. Today, he releases the latest single, “Ruby.” “Ruby is the happiest song I've ever written,' says Showalter. “Ruby isn't a person, rather the concept of time and memory and how with every passing year it becomes non linear. In the past I would've dismissed such unabashedly pure optimism, but I've been through a lot and I've learned to appreciate those rare moments of light.” The companion video features unearthed Showalter family footage. “This past year my little brother Jon spent countless hours trying to convert my family's collection of home movies. Somehow my dad in 1988 got a camera with 'Buick Points' and then proceeded to have a side career as world-class cinematographer.”

Emerging Artists Theatre, under the direction of Artistic Director Paul Adams, celebrates their 25th season by presenting their bi annual New Work Series. The series runs February 27 - March 17 at TADA Theater in the Flatiron District and features new works from a diverse group of artists. New musical, plays, solo-shows and dance pieces (in varies stages of development), will be presented.
