Claudio Simonetti's GOBLIN will launch their North American TENEBRE tour on October 21 in Philadelphia, performing their iconic score live alongside a 4K remastered screening of Dario Argento's 1982 thriller, with additional dates added in Lincoln, Dallas, Austin, Atlanta and Nashville.

Multiple lost Broadway theaters intersect with the Hammerstein family. This follows since Oscar Hammerstein I was a theater owner and builder. “Do, or do not. There is no try.” On this occasion, the National Youth Orchestra chose to ‘do’, as they took on some of the most iconic orchestral music of the 20th century. The teenage ensemble were very keen to perform Gustav Holst’s Planets, and so it was quite natural that a suite of music from the Star Wars films should follow; the first performance at the Proms of Caroline Shaw’s The Observatory was chosen as a natural bridge between the two. This was kimono-clad conductor Dalia Stasevska’s first time working with the National Youth Orchestra - her natural enthusiasm proved a great match for their youthful exuberance.

Duluth Playhouse will close out its 2024–2025 season with a high-energy double bill at the historic NorShor Theatre, featuring Cats: Young Actors Edition and Rock of Ages: Teen Edition.

From the moment the first note rang out, this was no ordinary Proms night. Four wildly different pieces, one restless thread: mischief. Mendelssohn is the marquee name here but really this was a foray into the world of fairytale birds, lyrical longing, mythological monkeys and death-defying pranksters.

As a Yeshiva boy with Ashkenazi DNA, my reaction to PARADE may have been more visceral than that of people who dislike OUR TOWN staging, see no reason for Leo Frank's lynching to become a big musical, or simply don't have Jewish skin and blood in the game.

The 2025 NEXT Festival lineup will showcase works by local and national artists, culminating in six public presentations of works by Malika Oyetimein, Jenny Stafford and Sam Salmond; Benjamin Emory Larson; and Naomi Iizuka and Paul Hodge.
