​​​​​​​Furman University Department of Theatre Arts has announced its 2021-2022 season including a musical, two plays and a new works festival.

Final casting was announced today for the smash-hit Leeds Playhouse production of C.S. Lewis' classic The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe which begins a major tour of the UK and Ireland on November 2, 2021.   TV and theatre star Samantha Womack completes the cast to play Narnia's evil White Witch.

With the slogan “Theatre In These Trying Times”, the 25th edition of the festival has set out to breathe fresh air into both the world of theatre and to theatre lovers with a programme of mostly new productions that look at the world, which is in search of a new normal, through the lens of theatre.

Full casting and creative teams were announced today for the Broadway productions of Is This A Room, conceived and directed by Obie Award winner Tina Satter; and Dana H., by Obie Award winner Lucas Hnath and directed by Obie Award winner Les Waters, playing Broadway's Lyceum Theatre on a rotating schedule this fall.

Fresh from winning its first Grammy Award, Experiential Orchestra, led by Music Director James Blachly, opens its 2021-22 season on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 8pm with a concert at the DiMenna Center for Classical Music (450 W. 37th St., NYC) highlighting its partnership with the African Diaspora Music Project (ADMP).

Apple Original Films announced today that the filmed version of the Tony & Olivier Award-winning hit musical “Come From Away” will premiere globally on Apple TV+ on Friday, September 10. “Come From Away” is directed by Tony Award-winner Christopher Ashley, and stars an ensemble cast led by members of the Broadway show.

Kimmel Cultural Campus has announced the much-anticipated return of in-person performing arts across their venues: the Kimmel Center, the Academy of Music, and the Merriam Theater. Bristol Old Vic has announced the appointment of Bernard Donoghue and Sado Jirde as the new Chair and Vice Chair of its Board of Trustees.
